Currently we have 1 EV and the house we are looking at is 3 phase ready.. Just that the wiring i guess need to change the whole thing lol..
From what I look around, its a small build up.. If i plan to do re-wiring the whole thing so that i can have a peace of mind (i think we're going to settle down here), roughly how much can the rewiring cost for this old house?

Depend on how many plug point, 15 V point, location of main switch box.

Generally, just rewriting (not change whole house write), basically need 10k included car porch. Upgrade to three phase charges very subjected to contractor and switch box location, so estimate you need to budget in at least 25k for whole house rewriting and upgrade to 3 phase.

Not upgrading 3 phase alone need 25K, is whole house rewriting + upgrade to 3 phase need need 25K.

TNB just arrange 4 wires until meter, the wiring between meter to main switch box is done by your contractor (must contractor registered with TNB only can submit the application, other contractor without register with TNB need to hire the registered contractor to complete the submission and electricity work from meter to main switchbox)

The long distance from meter to main switch box, will be higher in cost. This upgrade including change 3 phase switch box, nees 7k to 15k, subjected to distance, because 3 phase wiring is different.

Normally the old house have limited plug points, and if yoi worry aging and want to rewiring all , need about 15K and above ( Klang Velly price)

Ask the contractor , you will get the price.

My unit just add plug point, and add some 15 v points, redo car porch wiring,, change neq switch box, already cost me 11k. I didnt do whole house rewiring also because tight budget and the wireman check the existing wire still in good condition, he said old housw only use quality wire, only nowaday got many cap ayam wire, some contractor using cap ayam.

My house if upgrade to 3 phase need about 10k, but i not plan to upgrade as wireman said if you not having two EV, single phase also ok with overnight charging. The most important thing is i dont have EV at this moment. My house is not complicated to upgrade to 3 phase as my mainswitch location very near to meter, can upgrade anytime in future.
