Lontong Kuah & Lontong Kering (with beef rendang) at Onn Kitchen. They operates at a traditional Malay's wooden house.

Lontong Kering comes with beef rendang - must try & only available in the morning. If you are lucky, will get the coconut shredded topping - depends on availability of the day. RM 8/ serving - very flavorful & tasty, worth for value.

RM 7/ serving - above average. I prefer lontong kering over kuah version.

Haha I'm in JB and yet I haven't tried this place before! Have seen it a few times though, it's very near a KPJ hospital.

Will go and try it soon, I love beef rendang and my family loves lontong kuah with kerisik (shredded coconut) & roti canai.

Hi,

Any good fish and chips to recommend in Johor Bahru?
I only know of Edwards, Fish & Co, Manhatten Fish Market and George and Dragons.

Any other eateries to recommend?

Thanks!

One year late but recently I tried Fin & Feather at Taman Molek and their fish and chips is really good!

Seabass is RM38 and Grouper is RM56, I had the seabass.

Portion is decent and the fish was fresh and juicy.
The batter is crispy and tasty without being oily or too salty.
The sides of fries and salad are good too.

Mushroom soup was great. RM18

There is also grilled fish, chicken chop, slow cooked chicken, and various pasta though I didn't try these. The menu doesn't have a large variety like other places, they probably focus on doing these dishes well.

There is a set lunch menu with more economical options from RM 19~25, comes with a free drink.

They have a banner proclaiming best fish and chips in town, I think they can live up to it.

If you like chicken rice, you should try Pine Chicken Rice (name of the place). 161 Jln Beringin, Taman Melodies. They close at around 6pm I think.

Air conditioned and a bit pricey but their chicken is so good! I recommend the white chicken or soy sauce chicken.
The spicy chicken feet (deboned) is also nice, but the portion is small.

Food : 9.5/10 - I have to admit, it was really good the Wantan Mee. They are using pork lard for the noodle - please consume moderately.

All photos of the food look good. I used to travel to Johor Bahru back in the day during business trips but not anymore now. During those days we don't drop by these restaurants and mostly had meals in Malay restaurants as most of the staff are Malay. All curries! In the hotel it's buffet style.
