Hi do you use Maxis? does Volte or 5g work on your handset? Thanks

I see a lot of HK set 1 vi selling online with 512gb option, not sure if anyone has experience with it working with volte or 5g on Maxis or any other telco in Malaysia.

Currently using Xperia Pro-i HK set, it doesn't play nice with volte or 5g. Seemed like it wasn't a problem for Xperia 1 V HK set, just wonder how's it like for Xperia 1 VI

Msia 5G officially support on Xperia 1 IV and onwards.. im not sure why.. it should work for earlier Xperia.. somehow i think software "locked" it.. did u try to flash other region firmware?

Hello ChuanHong, I know maxis in particular start supporting Xperia pro-i and onwards for volte and 5g but this only applies to SEA set for Xperia Pro-i, HK set doesn't have the appropriate mbn profile which allows it to connect to Malaysia 5g network and volte, which is partially Qualcomm's fault. Honestly, I am kinda puzzled why GSM/3GPP allowed such limitation in the first place but that's another question for another time

However a I understood, newer model like Xperia 1 v HK firmware also has the required mbn profile to support Malaysia 5g network. So I just wanna know if that's also true for Xperia 1 vi for those who already own it.

I do not want to flash other firmware for my Xperia Pro-i because banking apps may break, probably Google wallet wireless pay would break too.

hmm if ur handset is HK set.. flash it to SEA should work though.. it wont break anything unless u unlock bootloader.. so far only 1 folk in this forum lowyat own the VI either from TW/HK set..
SEA will be first available in SG by end of this month.. guess msia follow in coming months..

Does Xperia 10 V comes with charger? Tempting to buy to replace my Pixel 5a.

Yeah hoping to hear from the HK/TW 1 VI set owner about 5g connectivity out of the box. Mainly interested in these sets because of the color.

no.. u just have to get any reputatable third party Power Delivery (PD) compliance charger will do.. the one i always recommended to people with affordable price tag is UGreen.. 30W/60W is more than enough.. as xperia max support 30W only.. 10V maybe lower charging rate at 25W or below.. however, all these wattages just a peak for short duration. once heat generated, charging rate will slower down..

the only difference between PD compliance handset like iPhone, Xperia, Pixel versus china phone that very fast charging rate is the battery & charging technology.. and china phone battery split into 2.. assuming normal 1 battery can handle 30W, they split into 2.. so both battery charged at same time is like 60W..

Maybe or even red haha. Just reminiscing the fun colour of mobile during the early 2000s. Also the 512gb offering is more attractive, I like the 512gb I have right now, don't prefer to use SD card.

Although black is probably the most suitable choice, because shooting picture with a black phone takes away the attention away from the person being shot at.

Thanks.. ya and the free gift is quite expected. However, still expecting one free Xperia 1 VI stand case. Potentially will be free for those did register for interests.

Btw, is there any demo unit for hands-on?

Update: my source told it could available as soon as next week.. so it not consider as preorder but early bird promo from now till 10 Aug..

From the description sounds like just cheapo clear case however premium that is but I am used to using aramid type case because it's thin and light so couldn't be bothered.

No demo unit, this is pretty much a leap of faith kind of order.

Yeah, the guy said the units will be available within the two weeks, he mentioned next week first but after calling his supervisor, he said could be two weeks, it depends.

True.. since z5p, I have always preorder the device without hands-on due to attractive free gifts. Hmm this never be sure but as buyer of course will prefer it arrive ASAP after payment.. now waiting Sony official store or Lazada store (showing sold out currently) to be available.

Also, waiting for the extra free gift from ROI users previously. Based on 1V, ROI users get extra Sony genuine case for Xperia. Hopefully same for 1 VI..
