QUOTE(Mr Gray @ Sep 28 2022, 04:35 PM) Got myself Xperia 5 IV Hong Kong version. VOLTE works flawlessly out of the box on Maxis, Digi and Yoodo May I know who and where you bought it from?Awesome phone. No overheating. Upgraded from Xperia 10 IV I asked a few seller before and told me volte won’t work. I had Xperia 5 ii HK version earlier and volte not working If the volte work with newer Xperia phone from HK or your seller, I may wan to get the Xperia 1 IV. Thanks in advance |

Then only volte works. I asked a few seller before and told me volte won’t work. I had Xperia 5 ii HK version earlier and volte not working If the volte work with newer Xperia phone from HK or your seller, I may wan to get the Xperia 1 IV. Thanks in advance However, with the Xperia 5 iv, volte works right away. Didn't do anything. For xperia 1 iv, I'm not sure if it will be like 5 iv or 10 iv. I bought direct from Hong Kong. There are many sellers on shopee who sell xperia from Hong Kong. This post has been edited by Mr Gray: Oct 1 2022, 01:00 PM |

From your experience, looks like default HK firmware can now be compatible with Malaysia volte - at least for Xperia 5iv as u shared u didn’t flash it like what you did with your Xperia 10 iv. - Sounds exciting to me honestly and I really wanna go back to Xperia. Loved my Xperia 5ii and forced to give up as I have problems with missed calls/unreachable due to volte. I may consider getting Xperia 5 iv then.. just that considered Xperia 1 iv for bigger screen. Thanks again! |

QUOTE(lambox105 @ Sep 29 2022, 08:02 AM) QUOTE(ChuanHong @ Sep 21 2022, 01:35 PM) only possible is USB-C converter to HDMI connector.. probably can try go to some local camera store and ask for tryout on whatever cable they have.. as i dont remember they did mentioned compatible with third party camera.. but in theory, it should support as long as your camera support Video Output.. z7 ii consider one of flagship.. Took me a while to figure it out, alas, manage to solve it.but even some of Sony camera require firmware update in order to use External Monitor.. So im afraid might not compatible to nikon camera but can try out again.. see any friend do ahve sony camera which can try out and eliminate your connector issue.. ![]() Now just need to find a Hot shoes and a compatible phone holder. QUOTE(lambox105 @ Oct 2 2022, 08:40 AM) Unsure about that, I use a mini-HDMI-to-HDMI (HDMI Type-C to HDMI Type A) cable to connect the camera to a video capture device, and output the signal through a USB cable to OTC converter, to the phone. Most cameras use Mini-HDMI connector, while Sony uses USB with UVC capability, if I recall correctly. List of HDMI connector, for reference: ![]() |

QUOTE(zioburosky13 @ Oct 1 2022, 07:38 PM) Took me a while to figure it out, alas, manage to solve it. Great. So i think it's cable issue earlier. Cable always have compatibility issue. Yes. Sony itself using type C with UVC capability.. i knew pro-i did updated external monitor features to have RGB waveform or false color mapping.. ![]() Now just need to find a Hot shoes and a compatible phone holder. Hmm ulanzi accessories mostly support 1/4 and cold shoe.. myself using ST17 phone holder. Screw type. I prefer this for longevity. But there are some usual phone holder type which can search. Else you could get additional bracket like ulanzi PT13, PT05 so you could add microphone or video light.. |

QUOTE(sjeg @ Oct 1 2022, 02:25 PM) Thanks to reply Mr Gray. Did you try out on other phone and ensure your sim support VoLTE? As example, in Xperia 1 and I did contact Celcom customer service to enable VoLTE. However my XPERIA 1 is Malaysia set. Before that, same sim card but no volte. Now using Xperia 1 IV and also got VoLTE.. even Xperia 1 IV M'sia stock also came from HK and Sonymalaysia get it to sea firmware..From your experience, looks like default HK firmware can now be compatible with Malaysia volte - at least for Xperia 5iv as u shared u didn’t flash it like what you did with your Xperia 10 iv. - Sounds exciting to me honestly and I really wanna go back to Xperia. QUOTE(lambox105 @ Oct 3 2022, 10:29 PM) 1 to 1 better (like certain company) hmm.. good & bad.. after warranty period, no one can help u repair.. either find third party or ... so far more than 10 years of mobile experience, only claimed once (Xperia 1).. touch screen on top 10% is not functioning.. (after i dropped and few days later) - Luckily claim warranty and get 1-1 replacement.. (total waiting time less than 2 weeks). some of older phone still functioning till today except M4 AquaRepair based on broken parts, gg if certain part damaged (unexpectedly) by repairer/technician by mistake |

QUOTE(Steponlego @ Oct 7 2022, 04:42 PM) how hard is it to flash to SEA rom? Fairly straight forward. Can do it in 5-10 minutes.now i can see that 10 IV got price drop down to 1.8k , but i'm not sure the extra cost for local unit is worth it compared to HK set. Can read here. https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyXperia/comment...r_a_total_noob/ Basically two steps. 1. Download SEA firmware using xperifim on your laptop. 2. Flash using newsflasher. Found 1 taiwanese that provide side edge protection in Penang . It's good especially who use Sony style cover where side protection is the least for phone.. Edited: there is a layer of film on top of phone body. You could see a bit of film texture. As normal body is smooth surface..
