More like take old stock sell as 'new' (for the chipset la)

Guess low sales number and procurement issue. Anyways even 8+ gen 1 still shit in term of stability unless designs for gaming like rog

Haha but based on history.
Xperia 1 and 5 use the same chipset.
No surprise from Sony this round.

Better get MY set as
1. warranty is usable here
2. Stubborn yellow Telco volte works

Last time Xperia series can flash easily as long as firmware sub files are correct
Now not sure check xda

TW set is cheaper as they get from those contact renewal and sell at lower price. M'sia set is expensive. But so far so good for my unit. Happy user. I did tried Livestream+gaming PUBG no issue. Video pro Livestream too.

Only concern is that wireless charging is super hot unless getting a fan blow on it. Anyways wired charging still the best.

Back to your question, I believe you may do so.. i don't believe VoLTE is an issue but it's like telco end..

I still feel HK set safer because charger is UK plug

I know we all buy aftermarket chargers but if get free thing (charger) might as well get one that can be used immediately if you know what I mean

Has anyone manage to try this, connecting the phone to any non Sony cameras and use it as an external monitor?

Cannot play the video. But can see the picture. However I can't answer you as i don't have that accessories. But if possible try out USB C 3.2 that enable the connection between phone and Sony camera. External monitor app required to turn on through phone setting, connection, external monitor, show app..

What I did is connect the phone with a Usb-C to HDMi connector -> HDMI to HDMI mini cable -> Nikon Z 7 ii, while on the External monitor app. It doesn't show any connectivity at all.

Think there is something missing here. 🤔

only possible is USB-C converter to HDMI connector.. probably can try go to some local camera store and ask for tryout on whatever cable they have.. as i dont remember they did mentioned compatible with third party camera.. but in theory, it should support as long as your camera support Video Output.. z7 ii consider one of flagship..

but even some of Sony camera require firmware update in order to use External Monitor.. So im afraid might not compatible to nikon camera but can try out again.. see any friend do ahve sony camera which can try out and eliminate your connector issue..
