Hello fooken..remember me or not ? TC-20 last time...

Yo guys...anybody can recommend me comfort spring/absorbers? I'm currently using stock absorbers + eibach pro kit spring .. now want to change back to comfort cos i notice i'm carrying lots of ppl than usual. biggrin.gif  .

Any combo ?
*
hey mike yea i rmember you. just revently theres one of the member with eibach spring changed his stock absorber to GAB sport absorber. result? much more comfortable now. Reason being is that the whole suspension now is working in unison. stock absorber has long stroke meant for longer stock springs. once u've changed to sport springs, the spring rate n length doesn't compliment well with stock abs. I have 1 set of GAB sport absorber brand new if you want. can get cheaper than normal market price. let me know if you're interested.

thinking of change pair of disc rotor..any brand/model recommended? Bosch??

fooken, the bendix ultra or titanium which one better? smile.gif

titanium is the premium range. $$ also but alot of good reviews from the singaporean side.

Who here got modified their CT with Airmaster bk? I got a bit "sayang" feel for modifying my car, like drilling holes for spoiler.
i dun think u can detect the those minor problem during when u take ur car.
*
you can always get a ducktail which doesn't need to screw on. just paste on it. also theres a shop selling civic spoiler which also doesnt need to drill hole. As for the bodykit, airmaster is the only one wihch doesn't require any drilling, they use back existing hole to scrrew back. im using airmaster skirting myself.

bro, which series GAB absorber ur frens used? Maybe i gonna give it a try if the pricing is okay.. so far the eibach spring + stock absorber working fine on my CT,  thumbup.gif
*
yes, eibach spring is called progressive spring. it is almost like stock during normal drive but the spring rate will change accordingly depending on situation. Thats the great thing about eibach compared to other spring which is non-progressive. we call them linear spring. it has fixed spring rate.

GAB sport absorber with AVCS technology. AVCS means that it is compatible with any sport spring to go with. AVCS=Auto Valve Control Stability. Market price for this is about 900+. Vtec one is slightly more expensive. also the design for the front absorber varies with idsi version so get it right from the seller.

hi fellows cityzens, does you guy's city gearbox run smoothly when ur's engine's still in cold condition? (green logo still appear). my vtec city takes a little more rev when step on the accelerator when the engine is still cold, but after the green logo disappear, the gearbox run smoothly. (rev is normal).

Engine still cold: Moving 40, RPM around 1900 - 2000
Engine normal temp: Moving 40, RPM less then 1500 or >.

it is common?
*
normal. its best u just let it glide of without revving it high during cold start.

QUOTE(Seng_Kiat @ May 19 2008, 09:59 AM)
let say i buy a city in year 2005 or 2006, how much it should be the pricE? can I get 9 years installment/loan repayment? ..

Added on May 19, 2008, 10:15 ameh, i read that early city has problem with gear box (cvT), is that true? .. is 2005 or 2006 model has that problem?
*
earlier city is the very 1st batch. 03' model. thats the batch that used wrong gearbox transmission oil. previously SC supplied them with ATF instead of CVTF. thats the reason for gearbox problem. year 04 onwards theres minimal cases of gearbox prob already.

ur GAB sa for front or rear?

the best is shock absorber & spring change it once?

how about the Disc Rotor? mine almost the time to change  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
GAB more comfortable?
*
What i meant is the theory behind it. each sets of springs and absorber compliments each other. so when you mess with only one of those then it doesnt compliment each other that well anymore. normally people would just change sport springs. this will shorten the lifespan of the stock absorber as its not utilised well with the sport spring[long stroke/short stroke that i mentioned in the previous post]

So if you just changed to sport spring only, chances are your stock abs will wear off n finally the leaking sign within 2 years.

Get from SC, RM8
Outside is actually RM1/free from Cobra or those outside shops.

Theres another way is to use those lil tiny chain type. open up the remote n clip it in. the chain are made of tiny tiny round shape one.

its called A pillar. Yes our city have big A-pillar so becareful when you're cornering. I myself have a couple of close calls before so now whenever i turn esp to the right side, i go very slow and stretch back or front to get wider view as I turn.

theres quite a number who change to this size n brand. very good investment i must say.

on trade in value depends on wear n tear of your own tyres. They will see all four tyres then only give u a quote.

just change your tyre to 45 series. more comfortable n chances of rim bengkok pon kurang. im using 205/45/17 currently. Even when I was using 16" previously I also used one series thicker, 50series on 16". when trade in the rims, no dent or whatsoever. rclxms.gif

of course idsi hp is much less than vtec. idsi bhp on engine is rated at 88bhp while vetec is at 110bhp.

on wheel bhp figure for vtec is 80+, idsi is around 66bhp. power loss is abuot 25% for our city. its minimal due to CVT which minimises the power lose. conventional auto tranny lose as much as up to 40%.

if your ride is not lowered, 45 series no problem at all..even look nicer as thicker tires reduce the fender gap. but if you're only lowering it with normal sport springs then yes will hit fender. Thats why im using adjustable..1 finger gap now on my ride with 45series.

For mine it was quiet at first. Now that the car is 2 years old its becoming more noisy. The wind sound is minimal though, it was the louder engine noise that annoys me sad.gif

my club's former president installed NGV into his idsi city. RM7 can go for about 180km. the tank wont explode easily la bro..they've even tested dumping the whole tank of NGV into a burning pit..no explosion. you need a very very high degree of fire then only it will explode.

well the conversion csot bout 4-5k according to the tank size selected. one time off payment, fuel price would jus continue to hike so in a long run its worth it. one thing good is tat you can jus switch from ngv to normal petrol with one switch only.

Its an overpriced car thx to the sales tax. our car value is actually about RM50k+ based on price in Thailand which is free from sales tax. Its assembled locally so QC isnt the same like JDM cars. I know you've been having issue with the wind noise, you've already posted in teamcity's forum and you're not alone facing this issue. Theres some who managed to solve it by adding extra sealant on the windscreen rubber. No point venting here n there, best head to your SC and ask them to do the same method as previously other members did.

VTEC changeover point varies depending on the throttle position. The change points are 2,300rpm for full throttle and 3,400rpm if partial throttle.

Most of the people can't feel the vtec kick in compared to the dohc vtec type. ours is called the baby vtec, minimal feel probably due to the ultra smooth CVT gearbox. If you're a person who is sensitive to small changes then you can feel a surge kick in when vtec is engaged.
