Shopee delivery misplaced my item into wrong mailbox.
When I asked guard to retrieve my item, he asked for my IC and captured the photo of my IC using his phone.
I was ok at that time but now my sister said it's wrong unless the guard crossed my IC.
Now the question is whether it is ok or not for a condo guard to take the photo of your IC.
You never know if that Nepal guard turns out to be a scammer.

Daily drive here and there hand off my driving license to the private sector security until i left the premise only they return back to me , during this few hours can you imagine how many personal collected my identity? Do i bother or worry? Yes and no

Some private sector do accept working ID you know the tag with your name , photo and company names sometimes they do call and verify some they don't

Just try to be smarter don't simply fall into scammer trap
If someone call you and able spell your name correctly doesn't mean the caller can be trusted especially unknown number or long time no see bullshi friend out of sudden and contact you must be too good to be true

Which is why you should only hand over your driver license. Never hand your IC to any security guard.

Coming back to TS question. You did the wrong thing, now too late. You can go back and asked to delete the IC. That's all you can do, next time never let anyone take photo or get hold of your IC unless official matters. Just leave driver's license to security guard if you want to enter a premise.

Use your driving licence, never hand your IC. Your IC can be misused...

Need to have a proper guidelines for things like this. Feels like the information can be abused easily if fallen into wrong hands. Which is not hard. And info leak is such prevalent but nothing is done to protect the rakyat.

Maybe print out IC copy , cross out for entry pass , and laminate it .
Show the actual IC but for copy they snap the crossed copy.

Had to drive into one of those informal secure tamans in PJ and the guard says I want to take picture of driving license.

Proceeds to show the card to a cheap CCTV camera. Like can read ke the card info from CCTV footage?

You wouldn't know how they process and store your data..

How a crossed IC with 2 lines is not as good as a none cross IC?

if you dont let them capture, i think they also have right to not let you enter

sometimes i do go out with Young adult old enough without driving license ... at the end they hand off their nric since not work for all place just using my driving license for 2 visitors or contractor pass

Tall tall private or office building going in taking visitors pass either nric or driving license no exceptions some building not even accept driving license

I have not been anywhere where they won't accept driving license. They have no rights to take your IC. Ask them to fark off. Seriously.

i use driving licence. at least that is not acceptable for financial transaction, enough for identification.

You ever tried go up Komtar do they accept driving license? Couple years ago I tried if not mistaken they only accept IC I think 🤔 I don't fully remember.

Last i remember when hooha about giving IC to guards few years ago, it was stated only police and JPN can withhold your IC.
the rest can glean, but cannot withhold.
