Intriguing… now I’m also curious how the chassis allocation takes place for each dealer. I booked mine 21st June and my SA said still need to wait, without a solid date range.

hi all, wonder what do you think on blind spot monitor and power tailgate?

will lack of these 2 feature stop you considering this car?

i think blind spot monitor is useful compared to the camera especially it only 1 side and required manual activation, nowadays motorcycle just like to suddenly pop from nowhere or hide on your blind spot, although we been driving car without blindspot monitor for so long, but having additional safety feature is a plus.

power tailgate is a good function too, i often encounter i have no other free hands to open the boot and have to put my things down 1st. judging from the 130k price tag (turbo), kinda meh for not giving these 2 useful function.

if the top turbo spec come with these 2 function, i will order it already .....

and also, is there any after market plug and play blindspot monitor?

Taiwan version HRV support with Blind spot monitoring, with additional topup as their Honda official optional add-on.
Wonder why Malaysia does not provide this solution as well.

As I understand it's a regional (South East Asia) decision. Even Thailand HRV also xde BSM.

i believe those that booked this car definitely do not think lacking these 2 features is a dealbreaker.
i do agree that it is a very useful feature to have and at this price range they should have given to us. probably a marketing decision.

what you said is right, we have been surviving without these features for a long time, and for another 5-10 years without these is also not a problem.

personally i dont think this car is the best bang for buck(probably x50 is more value for money) but at this subcompact suv and price range, i do think it is most beautiful one as of now.
i booked this also because i like its design, turbo variant, magic seat, honda connect, apple carplay/android auto. other features i didnt weigh it that much.

chip shortage? Many car brand decided to cut those short so they can provide the car earlier if not mistaken

Just taken delivery of my wife’s HR-V V Spec.

Good news: The latest HRV got RDS - not even my current Civic FE RS got… the turbo engine is similar to my Civic - didn’t push yet la… only 15km driven laugh.gif
Bad news: no auto folding side mirror. Not sure if there is a setting - but didn’t see any for this. Also, A pillar on left side + side mirror is a huge blindspot in my humble opinion.

Just a short drive, so can’t comment much yet. Will update my first impressions later.

Radio Data System where you will be able to see the broadcast channel's name on your radio screen rather than only the frequency,

No wireless apple CarPlay is another issue to me, I don’t want to plug my phone all the while I using.

Yup, x50 might be the best for value of money but only for the highest spec right? If I not wrong still need around 100k,
personally I don’t want to pay 100k for a proton….

Thinking of Corolla cross too but on paper is c segment but interior size wise is smaller than hrv, the only thing hrv lose is the boot space due to more sporty tailgate design.

ya, need 100k for top spec.
i have been driving my proton persona for 9 years d. so i dont feel like going for proton.
want to change brand.

indeed they sacrifice some space for sporty design. personally i dont always need so much boot space. only long long time once.. i think still fine.
Looking at corolla cross, i personally dont feel it look nice la..LOL

If no wireless apple carplay is an issue, x50 totally no carplay/AA laugh.gif

My Civic FE is wireless Carplay enabled - really make it easy for short trips, no need to plug in. But for longer drives, wireless charging is hit or miss. Sometimes it can charge full while using Carplay, sometimes it won’t charge full 100% but hover around 90%. I’m guessing the charging is throttled due to heat.

Yeah well.. for me as I’m coming from a Jazz Hybrid, the HR-V RS is going to be an all-round upgrade.

The only thing that I can think of that my Jazz has and the HR-V hasn’t, are heated side mirrors lol. Yes they can be quite useful when you start your car in a cold morning and when your wing mirrors are all fogged up. But honestly I only used them like twice a year? LOL

Don't worry about AppleCarplay not wirelessly as you can easily buy a dongle from shopee for less than RM 300 "CarLinkKit version 4.0" which support wireless Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto. Make sure you're connecting to the WiFi not bluetooth connection if you want stable and fast connection. I'm using it on my Honda. Just take around 20-25 seconds to connect during cold start.

topspec x50 is rm110k laugh.gif

went to test drive hrv and corolla cross yesterday after lunch ( lesser traffic on the road )

corolla cross
a complete package. foot brake is not an issue as long as remember to engage it.

-autodim rear view mirror
-360 camera
-blind spot monitor
-nicer interior (compared to HRV. i like the chrome outlet. )

HRV
turbo is really fast, if you want something fast, this will make you smile
whatever listed above for corolla cross is not available in HRV.
just reverse parking everytime, that will solve it.

Summary:
if you want something fast in this boring world. HRV turbo.

the reason i dont want wired carplay is i dont want it charge my phone to 100% .... lol terbalik between you and me XD.

i been keeping my phone battery between 40% and 80%, believe or not, my 2019 november xs max till now still 100% bettery with 500+ charged cycle.

the main reason your phone charge slow to 100 might due to your battery already degraded .... my old iphone 6 and iphone 8p also charge super slow pass 90, and took a very long time from 99 to 100.

that's why now i dont want to charge full edi, just charge whenever i can and keep between 40 and 80.

oh, i currently driving my sister jazz hybrid (GK), i guess yours is the older 1 gen right?

heated side mirror not a problem to me, my 10 years old forte have it too but it only activate when i turn on front defogging.

another reason i consider HRV is because its a JDM model, design in japan ..... city, vios, cross, all design outside japan sad.gif
