Wrong question. What bolehland sees as justified or not doesn't change 1 cent of Sinkieland expenditure.

They are allocating their tax receipts to expenditure based on their priorities. Defence expenditure as the largest allocation reflects their priorities. Their parliament justifies it to their people.

Each country's government is responsible for their own budget. Malaysians should focus on Malaysian budget first. Unless the asker is a sinkie in disguise.

Sinkieland has donated a fair bit of it's weapons in the past. F-16s to Thailand. SF260 to Indo, even fennecs to Chad air force. Quite a lot of other weapons Malaysia can use eg LG1 guns, APCs, Trucks, Helos, LST/LPDs.

If only that one special person were to ask....

OPV or offshore patrol vessel is a subjective class. Even 1975 us navy class only class patrol boat and defines any vessel above 30m as seagoing. There is no definition of offshore.

Fearless class patrol vessels are smaller than the new Keris class lms so if in RMN would be defined either as an lms or patrol craft, not an opv (agreed).

Indian Sukhoi serviceability will likely be impacted if Russian spare parts are delayed due to Ukraine war

Same applies to RMAF. Looks like Malaysia may be defended by only 7-8 old hornets in the next few years until FA-50 arrives.

would murican allow a US missile to shoot down a US made plane like F-16/F-15 without their permission? Having Amraam is useful against chinese fighters but less effective against nations that equip with US made fighters.

dont think they have any issue if amraam shoots down korean made fighters.

meteor is fantastic. UK is integrating this into its F-35Bs which makes only 1 nation in this region to be the likely user.

In Indian hands M2K is cutting edge. likely to use into 2040s (or until crash whichever is earlier).

China upgrade the plaaf fighters to bvr as standard. then move from pl12 to pl15 which outsticks the amraam-C. now moving towards stealth.

in the meantime Taiwan still flying anything with a wing.

Taiwan is a rich cash cow. US not only selling to them at inflated prices, they sell highly expensive useless stuff like patriot SAMs. US MIC first as always.

@raddus,

more likely than not you can find it 20 miles away unexploded in some ditch.

Taiwan complained m2k maintenance is ridiculously expensive.
India spent huge to upgrade and still spend huge just to maintain its small super aging current fleet.

These type of stop gap waste of money. The F-16s were much more cost-effective.

US granted sinkies higher exemption threshold from contract reporting. Thats why many years sinkie buy below threshold for gmlrs. yes they also participated in gmlrs+ which I think tested range to at least 120km.

names are only words. treaties are only paper. reality like ukraine is that if someone want to intervene, no need name nor paper.

https://www.state.gov/u-s-security-cooperat...with-singapore/

US$8.38b in active fms, US$26.3b in dcs export approvals between 2019-2021. those are numbers that count.
