sinkieland has 4 Sentinel MSRV (which they are also replacing in 2028) and 8 LMV. Enough for patrol duties.

NS100 radar on LMV has a 4D instrumented 280km range (sinkieland to KL distance). That's 246,000 km2 radar coverage for a 700 km2 island. not enough?

No need talk about future. Current Himars already combat proven in Ukraine. Sinkie train live firing in Murica. Long range sniper.

This while sinkie technologies chalking up $$$ from shell sales to Europe.

Kuwait F-18 crash, pilot killed.

Flying any aircraft past its sell by date is always risky. The longer, the riskier.

Just thought its worth highlighting that the jump from RM 12.6B to RM13.6B for FY25 MoD operating expenditure is driven by RM448M in SSPM salary adjustments.

Not surprising when operating 40+ year old planes.

don't think there is a +1 sub. There is no need since they can still use the Challenger as training subs (no need to commission to do that).

The challengers are really the oldest ships in the sinkie fleet. After this, only the Victory class & Bedoks class are "old" @ 30-36 years each but the MCMV roles already assumed by the LMVs so there is unlikely to be a 1-1 replacement. The replacement for the Victory class already in production (MRCV).

It might surprise people to know that the sinkie fleet is as large or larger than the UK Royal Navy in terms of numbers today (excepting the 2 CVs & 4 SSBNs). If the sinkies build the JMMS as CVLs, then they will also match another factor. RN has dropped to only 6 DDGs & 8 FFGs of which they have difficulty manning the fleet and keeping these operational. This especially as the UK defense budget is more than 5x that of sinkie.

India new built scorpene submarine collides with fishing boat.
https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/indian-navy...missing-7078243

Don't dare to say sub condition.

France poke India by offering to make its subs even more stealthy
https://www.theweek.in/news/defence/2024/11...ean-region.html

more collisions = more sub sales.

In addition, the LMVs may be deployed with unmanned systems for surveillance or mine countermeasure operations.

sinkie well known to pack a lot of capabilities into every hull. LMV no exception. Add an S70 that has a secondary mine-hunting role.

In terms of USV, LMV won't sport venus sized USVs (that will be the new MRCVs). Instead its more like Meredith/Mercury minehunting AUVs (see write up below).

Not sure which David you are referring to but the concept of escort is passe. A CVE is a vessel to escort other vessels, not just a vessel to be escorted. But again, if one looks at numbers, sinkie navy will have more fleet escorts than the UK RN CVs.
