Hi all, Just to confirm, is that accurate that the Hybrid version will only be available end of this year if you book now?

Has anyone tried Carlist, Carsome, or another dealer? It seems like they have stocks, but I don't know if it is true or not.

Hey guys, I'm considering to buy the cross hybrid. Either petrol or hybrid version. Does anyone have experience driving the Cross Hybrid up Genting Highlands fully loaded (5 adults + luggage)? This is going to be important for me because I will frequently be driving up Genting Highlands fully loaded. Based on the research I have done, it seems that on sustained climb like that of Genting Highlands, only the internal combustion engine will contribute to the drive. The cross hybrid fully loaded could weigh as much as 1850kg and since the hybrid engine is only 97HP, will it be sufficient for the climb up to Genting? I really hope to be able to test the car up Genting but I'm not sure if any dealer will allow this kind of test drive.

Its too subjective. If u are talking about power this car is ok to overtake espeacially sub 100km/hr . It has high torque and good respond due to the assist from electric motor in power modeThe biggest weakness is when its on highway due to lower hp and attkinson cycle type engine. The top speed is very low. Good side is the car is very refine in city relax drive This post has been edited by bamkai: Jun 28 2022, 03:45 PM |

Sufficient as in able to drive 45-60km/h up Genting Highlands while loaded with 400 kg. I don't care about its top speed as I don't drive above 120km/h generally. If the car is going to drive up Genting highlands at 20-30km/h when fully loaded (400kg) then that's going to be a problem. The biggest weakness is when its on highway due to lower hp and attkinson cycle type engine. The top speed is very low. Good side is the car is very refine in city relax drive On a sustained climb the electric motor will not be contributing much to the climb so we are talking about 97 horsepower going up ~8-12 degree slope when weighing about 1.85 tons. |

What you really need during constant speed hill climb is actually torque, not horsepower. In the same sense that a heavy laden lorry / bus also does not have high horsepower, but diesels and hybrids have one nice thing in common, that is torque at low RPM. So it will generally be ok, you may hear the petrol engine roar (charging + motor generation dual duty) but still works most of the time. It would appear still much better to save petrol compared to a regular petrol along the way too! |
