Forgive me, but why many of you peeps are saying that IR sensors are better(?) than mice using laser tech? Might wanna ditch my Copperhead for another mouse..

hmm seems like not many ppl likes Lachesis ? is tat mouse really not good?
and 1 more thing is ... seems people prefer Deathadder compare to Copperhead... by the way, bloomslang i don't like the design... under my consideration now is keyboard : tarantula / lycosa but tarantula don't have backlight , need ++ battle light some more lycosa is cheaper & newer.. mouse : Lachesis / Deathadder go everywhere saw people using Copperhead.. so not consider first lachesis is newer but not tat colorful rite? juz the scroll button got color out deathadder got 3G stuff, dunno whats that for... now i got offer for 2nd unit Lachesis+Tarantula at good price... problem is seller lost the receipt.. can i still claim the warranty from Ban Leong?? if not, i will go ahead with Lycosa+Deathadder or others 1 more question is razer mako here?? got price ? |

Ok...... Lachesis, using the 3G (3rd Generation) LASER sensor. There has been quite a few reported problems with skipping and stuff like that. Right now, it's not the perfect mouse to get, unless they can get better drivers/firmware updates. Also, many find it quite uncomfortable because of the new shape.
Copperhead is using the 2G Laser sensor...... it too has it's fair share of problems with it not working or the sensor has problems........ but it's still a great mouse. Because of the design, it's quite friendly to the palms though. Bonus feature, it has 32kb of built in memory (Like the Lachesis) so that you can store your profiles and bring it to LAN parties/Cyber Cafe and don't have to install drivers. The Deathadder, although doesn't come with built in memory, comes with a 3G IR (optical InfraRed) sensor which has been proven to be very stable and not alot of problems reported. It's theoretically slower then the 2G or 3G Laser sensors, but for the average gamer, you can't really tell the difference. I can't. The Diamondback 3G, is a re-hash of the original Diamondback, with the added bonus of the 3G IR sensor. It too has not much problems reported and its design feels quite comfortable to most mouse users. Like most 3G IR sensor mouse, it doesn't come with built in memory, but it does have 7 buttons if you're a button freak. Finally, the creme-de-la-crop of the Razer line-up is the Boomslang Collector's Edition. It's a remake of the original Boomslang mouse that Razer introduced oh-so-many years ago, but features the 3G IR sensor (seems like they're trying to say something if they put the 3G IR sensor instead of the 3G Laser sensor in their top-of-the-line model On to keyboards (deep breaths)......... I haven't personally tried the Lycosa, so I can't give my comments, but I do own AND use the Tarantula. I'm not really a fan of backlighting, so to me it's not really a big issue. The keys produce a very nice "click" sound which I really like and very responsive for gaming and fast typing on microsoft word. The speed and comfort came in handy when I was writing my thesis for university. Hours on the computer typing paid was a breeze with the Tarantula. But I do like the side Macro buttons and the ease of switching profiles. I game occasionally and use the macros for stuff like quick buy and things like that, but I mostly use them for Photoshop/Audition shortcuts. I have so many Photoshop profiles, it's not even funny anymore..... One for cropping stuff, another filter one, another one that's image enhancements....... it's quite addictive when you made so many. Same goes to audio recording with Audition. In addition to the macro keys, I also map the main play, stop, skip buttons to the original keyboard buttons itself. Very very useful. The side buttons like zoom and rotate also come quite helpful for the photoshop work or even viewing back photos. And I think the most used buttons besides those are my media buttons. I even have custom profiles to switch to my Winamp, iTunes and Windows Media on the go so I can control different programs at the same time and not get mixed up. Bottomline, it's a very comfortable keybaord (WITH built in memory to store profiles also) and the button Whew. That was alot of words. Maybe should add more and post up on the front page, huh? |

My bottom of the armadillo is already rusted
Dunno if I want to use it for my laptop, because it works so well for my home PC! I was heavily contemplating buying the Piranha, but really don't have a use for it yet, so decided against it. |

Unless backlighting is REAAAAAALLLY important, get the Tarantula.
To me it's just a better keyboard. |
