use temp 23-25 normally cold enough for your room. put in energy save mode is also good enough.
Most power saving aircon?, you recommend or you think you know

QUOTE(Selectt @ Mar 17 2022, 02:15 PM) i assume 5 stars rating a/c? whats your suggestion brand model? I think 1 or 2 hp a/c for small-medium bedroom The installer or seller can advise the aircond size required or you can Google for it like https://www.omnicalculator.com/construction...ioner-room-size YouTube by local said like this aircond high current because never shut down aircond if temp setting below 25C..... blah... blah... blah. It is just simply blank statement. If like that, why aircond have temp until 16C? It is all depend on how good the room isolated from external heat. Unlike in the 4 seasons country, our wall is just brick that exposed to sun on the outside. The hotter the wall or the more exposed to heat, then the aircond has to work harder to keep temp down. So, depend on those factor, you may reach a point where your aircond has to continuously work at full power if the temp setting is below the room ability to retain coldness. I only on my aircond just to sleep at night. So, the energy used is not much. Any branded aircond is as reliable in my opinion. The technology has no hidden secret anymore. The brand that you can easily get support nearby is more important. Now is the right time to buy because you can get RM200 rebate. https://soyacincau.com/2022/01/10/save-3-0-...-how-to-redeem/ You can claim yourself but the shop where I bought aircond do it for me and immediately deduct my purchase price. QUOTE(kuntilanak @ Mar 17 2022, 02:55 PM) i thought inverter tech uses a device to constantly keep temp at desired level, where by conventional is still uses the compressor start-stop tech in which the start-stop process itself consumes more electricity, hence higher bill... no? No and yes.Inverter uses DC motor, so the motor speed can be varied, by varying the motor rpm, then cooling effect can be controlled and more constant with feedback loop. Once cool, motor run at low speed. Non-inverter uses AC motor, it is either on 100% or off. So either cool or no cool air. Inverter can consume as much as non-inverter if it is running 100% like non-inverter, if the preset temperature is too low like 18c and the room has difficulty to reach that temp due to too open space. The saving amount is largely depended on your preset temperature on the remote. pigduck liked this post

I'm responding to this thread again as it popped up in main page. The question was about the most saving air-cond. So, one is it has to be inverter but which one? As far as I know the best one is Mitsubishi. In case you don't know, there are 2 Mitsubishi air-cond manufacturers: 1) Mitsubishi Heavy Industries 2) Mitsubishi Electric (formed at later date) The Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) is the most efficient one and it is very quiet during operation. The reason is it has more cooling fins than most other brands including Mitsubishi Electric (if not all). Therefore the fan no need to blow so loud. Having more surface, the cools the room much faster. The only negative side is that since the fins are close together, it can easily be block in dusty environment. Need more regular cleaning on fins. pigduck liked this post

QUOTE(ruzaini88 @ May 17 2023, 02:23 PM) ![]() Recently I did market survey on 1.5HP inverter aircond. Panasonic X-Premium model seems the way to go for me as it CSPF rating higher than any other 1.5HP models in the market. Daikin Smarto (FTKH) series also not bad, very efficient too. Summore more silent compressor than Pana. |

Hi,
My panasonic A/C has energy label of 3526kwh/year. I think they use 12 hrs calculation and 365 days? So is it 0.8kw/hr? and multiply with 0.22c for tier 1, only 0.17cents per hour of use? |

I Tried running 1.5HP 23Celcius for 3hours - 3hours 15min and when i check TNB daily usage show 86cent.. duno how accurate it is. still not yet move in. so now can test aircond power consumption |

Panasonic still the way to go, even asking the people who service and repair airconds. More reliable and spare parts easy to find + cheaper.
Temp is usually 25 - 27 used for sleeping. 3 AC with bil 50 - 80 every month. |

QUOTE(mrmoi88 @ Mar 2 2024, 01:03 PM) Not recommended to buy Gree, lots of my relatives used it, and most of them having trouble of it leaking and malfunctions. Still prefer Panasonic and Daikin. Can you define leaking and malfunctions? As in the gas is leaking, or condensate dripping, or condensate not flowing, etc? So what is the malfunction after that? |

So what is the malfunction after that? Leaking as in water leaks, malfunctions as it doesn't work anymore after some years. I visit my cousins every year, so I noticed them installed a new Gree aircon, then after around 3-4 years, my cousin mentioned that it doesn't work anymore. In between they also mentioned that it keeps on leaking. The visits were during CNY, and it was installed before MCO. My mom's main company is distributor for Gree, and her working branch office also having the same issue with some Gree aircon leaking water.
