Thank you for coming in.

I'm considering LG UP7550 & Samsung AU7000.
In your opinion, which is better in term of,

1) Reliability
2) Screen
3) UI
4) Service

I'm a moderate tv user with average expectation.

I also came to know Hisense but i feel like getting one of the Korean brand above.
Not considering Sony as well because i had separate sound systems.

I have a K series Samsung TV, it received regular firmware updates until last year, however there seems to be less and less support for Tizen apps. I think Android/Google TV is winning this war although I don't know about WebOS. Reliability, the mainboard failed and had to be swapped just short of 2 years, it was still within warranty.

I have an LG Nano Cell from 2018 that still works great today. Recently bought a C1 OLED for new place and it looks phenomenal. Regardless of which brand you go for I would highly recommend getting extended warranty to avoid headaches and for peace of mind

if IPS or VA panel, just take samsung, quality more less, but samsung much less dirty screen effect over time. Samsung VA, less colour spectrum but more vibrant since deeper blacks. If talking about oled diff story

using au9000 here, comparing to a friend who bought sony and lg

just buy android dongle if want android system.

I have 3 Samsung TV in my house, and bought 1x each for my office & for my parents (all TU8000 model), so total 5x units

So far so good, but it is still too early to comment on anything as all unit are less than a year old.

Never had a chance to test LG but none of my family members/close friends had 1 too so I guess it is not really a popular choice

bought my first samsung TV, and used for 5 yrs and kaput, loud exploded noise, maybe capacitor blow up. Seek TV repair guy, he said repair cost too much, better buy a new one.

Second TV, try LG, but flickering line came out before 2 yrs, luckily bought extended warranty, sent it for warranty. But the result is same, repair cost is too high and they (insurance company) choose to pay me lump sum of RM1700.
TV repair guy told me nowadays TV won't last long, every brand is the same, but told me better buy from the big factory (samsung lg etc), other smaller less popular brand like Sharp they also take stock (LCD/LED panel) from big factory (Samsung, LG)

So I used that RM1700 and top up a bit and bought my 3rd TV, a samsung U series 4K TV. This time I MAX out the warranty to 5 yrs brows.gif If kaput again within 5yrs then I will have another almost free TV. So far using it for 2 yrs, so far ok.

For TS,
if you are an average user, either samsung or LG wont different too much in (2) and (3)
If you are concern (1) and (4), then just purchase extended warranty.

Last note, the duration to claim kaput TV is long, near to a month.

I'm using LG. TV manufacturers are stingy to release updates for their TVs.
So I'm stuck with WebOS 2.0 for a very long time. I do not expect them to keep releasing updates but it's worse than handphone updates. They force you to buy new TVs. I'm using my 60 inches LG TV for almost 8 years now. Still going strong. But there is a minor issue with the main board which affects the DVB-T2 tuner, you get crystal clear pictures but the sound gets cut off around a second or two now and then. Not a big deal if you do not watch Live TV. Otherwise it's a great TV and it's hooked up to my PS5 too. It doesn't support HDR though.

I dont really trust Korean brands, compared to jap brands in terms of reliability. I had a sony that worked for years. If I were u I'd compare side by side for the picture, n go for the one u like. and as others said, get extended warranty.

If you buy low end tv, compare for what... 2x5 aje...

Samsung low end no more RCA (yes, au7000) since my office bought one to use for cctv. If you need RCA, prepare to fork out more or go with China brand. China brand will give you android tv but usually no update forever.
