the only factor that keep me with Unifi  is  this guarantee.

TM is committed to solve customers’ complaints regarding internet connectivity issues
within twenty-four (24) hours. In the event the restoration is more than 24 hours, the
Customer is eligible to redeem one (1) bill rebate of RM50 for every complaint of the same
incident (same report number). This redemption activity starts on 30 November 2021.

yes, HSBB is vendor-agnostic government-owned and government-sponsored.

TM only manage it.
Unifi Maxis Digi Celcom etc also can serve you through HSBB.

add:
aannnnnnd, make sure you get advise on how to switch proper without losing your existing port in the process. me not experienced though.

thank you sir

the reason I ask in the first place is because if I use maxis coverage checker it says no coverage
which is dumb to say the least

Guess I'm not the only one. Can check below to see if there is a service disruption. Not sure whether this disruption was due to the very heavy rain right now.

My advice: do walk-in to Maxis Centre and explain your need.

I walked in (for different purpose) but upon prod by CS about fibre, I end up subscribing after CS said they have different database with up-to-date data (while the web gets it later). Indeed, a few of my distant neighbours on same street are already inside the Centre's database eventhough web did not even display the street. And CS said they have team that will chase TM to add my non-existent premise into the database. Kowtim complete install in less than 1 month.

My own take; the web is aimed for new sign-up and existing Maxis Fibre customer to self-service, not so much for refugee from another competitor. It isnpossible the web says no more because all ports already utilised in your area, but, your case is you want to reuse.

/me not affiliated with Maxis, but i shamelss plug for them in this thread because i am satisfied with the pre-sales, sales, and provisioning eagerness.

i don't think it has anything to do with heavy rain
1. it wasn't raining when it went down
2. fiber isn't affected by rain or thunder

Hi guys
need some information

I am Unifi fibre home user (300mbps)
my 2 years contract is ending soon

so of course, the unifi "offers" has started pouring in

the first one, is "free" Disney Hotstar subscription for 24 months
no prize for guessing that it comes with a renewal of Unifi contract for 24 months as well

I just ignore

then come second "offer"
a free upgrade to Wifi 6 router
again, come with  a renewal of Unifi contract for 24 months

to be honest, I am thinking of switching to Maxis home fibers as the cost is lower and I dont use the Unifi TV at all

so my question, does having a unifi coverage automatically mean Maxis coverage as well?
from my understanding from long time ago, it use same infrastructure
*
300Mbps should be RM199 previously?
If you able to get SWU2.0, you can make it lower to RM129, and FOC 6 months

Highly likely Maxis coverage is available, since it is also using TM's HSBB infra. Here is what you should do if you plan to switch to Maxis Fibre. Do not terminate your Unifi.
1. Go to Maxis centre and register your prefered plan. Bring along your Unifi bill so that it's easier for them to trace the address or to request TM to add your address into the wholesale system.
2. You will receive a transfer ID after registration.
3. Submit transfer ID to the nearest TMpoint. Tell them you want to transfer out to Maxis.
4. While you are there, pay your Unifi bill 1 month in advance. Any balance TM will refund through cheque to your address.
5. Complete the thumbprint process and wait for 5 to 10 days for TM to approve the transfer. Meanwhile, you may or may not receive any counter offer from TM. If you want to take those offer, by all means, otherwise just be firm and proceed with Maxis.
6. when transfer request is approved, Maxis will schedule installation with you. TM will only close the Unifi account few days after your Maxis fibre is up and running.

Remember, do not ever terminate your line but do the proper transfer procedure. Otherwise you will be in deep shit and worst case, port taken by other neighbour in that area.

fibre contract (start w/ 2 years) and tv pack contract (start w/ 1 year) are separate, even if they had bundled and started at the same time.

According to CS chat, if you take up/switch to rateplan without tv pack bundled, you can contract any tv pack separately now or later, at its prevailing price.
e.g. Ultimate Pack current prevailing price is RM49.90

But, if you have current tv pack bundled in, and still on-going, and you wish to switch to a fibre without tv pack, tread carefully and make sure you did not trigger penalty regarding existing tv pack contract.

is your try me (mesh) still in contract at the time you requested to change?

or did you only terminate the tv pack in order to reduce bill? note that in my bill, TM charged for the pack and then immediately give refund as if its a perk of subscription - nett effect will be zero ringgit reduced if tv pack is terminated alone.
