Planning to jump ship over from Maxis. Does anyone know what brand TM will provide for the Mesh network? Are they still giving Deco M9?

Try to hold off for a few months more for (hopefully) lower prices.

QUOTE(issac99289928 @ Apr 10 2023, 08:05 PM)
incoming UNIFI packages are becoming clearer.
free upgrades are as follows.
30mbps to 100mbps
100mbps and 300mbps to 500mbps
500mbps to 1gbps
800mbps to 2gbps
special package 30mbp/rm69 for b40 and special categories.
*
Is that six month free upgrade or permanent?

QUOTE(mH3nG @ Apr 10 2023, 09:54 PM)
Roughly how many more months? Trying to weigh the pros and cons
*
According to this, two to three months before new MSAP 2023 pricing takes effect.
(I can't vouch for accuracy of reporting)

I though MSAP would reduce pricing. Apparently not. TM makes it appear as if they are giving discount but end-up same pricing as before.
*
New pricing not implemented yet

TM has removed UNIFI 's 30mbps business package . expect UNIFI HOME 30mbps package  to upgrade to 100 mbps for free .
*
I would prefer 50Mbps at RM79 rather than 100Mbps tor RM89 or the B40 RM69 for 30Mbps (if qualify)

i think i asked to cut the landline since got monthly charges after replaced streamyx with fibre, then the girl said can keep for free if i want, so i kept it,
*
Strange.
After subscribing fibre your copper land line line should have been migrated to fibre

Cheaper prices >>>> speed upgrades anytime.
*
Unfortunately we won't be getting RM69 for 30Mbps since it's already covered by the B40 group price but I'd pay RM79 for 50Mbps
However, I too, do not believe there will be any actual price cuts
Instead we will get a speed upgrade at current prices which technically makes it "cheaper" but will have no impact of our cost of living.
(unless you downgrade your service speed but if you're already at rock bottom speed then you'd have nowhere else to go)

Hope we actually see some price reduction and not simply a speed increase at current prices.

mine is 300mbps ... contract also just ended.

yesterday got time to go to TM, been offer for RM129/month for same speed , RM0 for 6 months, and new wifi 6 router.

i just told the CS that i been getting call by Maxis and they offer me cheaper. didnt bring any transfer ID.

but while at the TM yesterday, other customers seems want to terminate their internet with unifi. and most of them can not do the termination because didn't bring along their bank account statement.  icon_idea.gif
*
Why need bank statement to terminate?

yeah...i saw their termination form also mention need to give bank statement.

if not, they dont want to proceed. got some uncles left the TM point sadly.
the CS explain HQ need the bank statement because want to pay any extra we already made before.

no bank statement, no termination, come back again.
*
Meaning TM want to refund money to you?
If that's the case then ac. number will do.

(I wonder if they will accept a heavily redacted bank statement? devil.gif )

Vote PAS in and there will be nothing to stream and therefore no need high speed broadband.

is there any ETA on when isp will annouce they MSAP?
*
I've asked that question here myself but all the chatter is about SWU and free upgrades.

I for one am holding off getting the B40 package of RM69/30Mbps for what I hope will be a RM79/50Mbps package under the new MSAP
Merely upgrading speeds at current prices (while technically cheaper) doesn't help in reducing monthly household expenses

QUOTE(chkwong @ May 18 2023, 08:08 AM)
And if you are above 100 Mbps, you are literally "donating" free bandwidth back to the provider. One can hardly use all the bandwidth at any given time, unless you are streaming more than 10 HD movies and torrenting/P2P all the time. Or running online server "farming".
*
Guess this is why Unifi will probably give more speed at same price rather than lower subscription rates after MSAP 2023 kicks in.

Just to update my experience :

TM Unifi 100Mbps. Old plan expired, renew 2 years to same plan (only removed the unused TV package) - RM129 / mth.
Shah Alam, Selangor area.

*
Why renew for two years?
Why not simply continue without contract?

Those 30 firmware updates that you see is only from 2018
There are lots more from 2013 but ASUS removed them because they are too old
All ASUS routers comes with long life support

Just how old is this product anyway?

So when will we see lower prices?
Tweet was posted 30 March.
Does that mean we will have to wait till July?

he didn't mention the starting point of that "2-3 months".
bersangka baik that he forgotten to mention it's from next decade.

MSAP 2023 actually came into effect on 1st March 2023
So we are now into the beginnings of the fourth month and still no news from any of our ISPs
