Not all car engine got engine block coolant plug. Like small car engine perodua, no drain plug on engine block. Only way to drain completely is through remove thermostat.

Change your mechanic.!!!

If your oil is less, then it means there is a leakage somewhere. Your oil cannot just evaporate just like that!!

Typically, you should not have to change the radiator coolant unless it changes color.

there is 1 simple tool that you can use to measure coolant "performance"

if out of specs then can consider change

I just know if u didnt burp the coolant until all air come out, around 20-30 minutes usually, your temperature will be higher by 5 degree for my car.

older the coolant, the coolant becomes more acidic. too old the coolant, it will rust out your car internals, radiator, thermostat, coolant hoses.

Unfortunately this one only measures the anti-freeze power of the coolant, it cant detect the pH value of the coolant, I suppose you could use those pH testing strips to see if the coolant is too acidic.

How do you guys change your car coolant?

Btw fun fact for your car cooling system.

Any type of water only - Bad
Tap water / mineral water + coolant - can use but not recommended
Reverse osmosis water + coolant - can use but not recommended
Distilled water / soft water + coolant - Good
Factory premix coolant only - Best

Err.. U sure not distilled water with premix coolant?

If your coolant is made with OAT, it doesn't turn acidic.

And the best way of knowing when to change the coolant, is indeed, the color change.
