I thought non-stick pan cancerous if the nonstick layer scratched?

Seems like coating also will tanggal after washed in dishwasher...can't last long...

I stopped using teflon based non stick coating
pans after watching this movie ( based on true event ).  If you had read about this court case.

The non-stick coating is called Teflon made by DuPont. There is no proven link to cancer. Actually the chemical used in producing Teflon, PFOA, is harmful to human. That is why it has been replaced with other chemical very long time ago already. However, recently there are question on how safe the new substitute called GenX to human. There is claimed that it is more harmful than it was thought previously. However, now it is still under safe category if not mistaken.

Tanggal or not, after about a year or so the non-stick property also degraded and become sticky. Use with proper utensil, it will not scratch.

Buy 1 or 2 cheap non stick, change je every 1 year plus max 2 years.

Rest is stainless steel, easy to take care, and can use wire scrub no headache. No need to manja manja like cast iron

La Gourmet’s Shogun series is very good. At first I thought no way this is non stick cause the surface a bit rough but man this thing really non stick, not even eggs.
Whatever it is, good luck trying to find a 30cm non stick pan with lid for Rm50 or less biggrin.gif

The shittiest non stick is Tefal. Don’t buy this POS brand.

I think about the same, just over a year now.
I have confidence in ceramic coating, my other ceramic pan which is like 4 years now still no flaking off yet but non stick properties not as good as this Shogun
