http://www.scee.presscentre.com/Content/De...34&NewsAreaID=240GB set, still using 6 axis, less 2 USB ports, less multi-card reader, no ps2 BC, cheaper - coming this holidays. i think xbox might also have a price cut soon. competition is good for gamers  i think this is a reasonably good offer. anyways ps2 games are mostly 4:3 and 480i, not very suitable for 16:9 hd displays. playing ps2 games on a SDTV using a DS2 is still the most optimum setup. but i hope they keep working on ps2 BC, who knows maybe one day they can offer software emulation BC like how the 360 does for certain xbox titles. 20GB/60GB non-PAL sets = have EE+GS 60GB PAL sets = GS only 80GB non-PAL sets = GS only 40GB sets = most probably don't have EE or GS This post has been edited by acougan: Oct 6 2007, 12:19 AM

Is the new 40 GB SKU any different in terms of BC with current 60GB European SKU?

40GB SKU is a good buy if you dont play PS2 games on your PS3 or dont use the memory cards slot ....  .....u can always change ur HDD from 40GB to 120GB...  |

memory slot is an extra for me, i like it, cant imagine wihtout it 2 usb ports shudnt be enuff for me, cos i malas to plug in and out  1: external HDD/charging 2: headset cable 3: future cam 4: spare for other pheriperals |

erm. 40 gig..take it out the pimp it up to 160 gb.
no P1 and P2 games? my ori games are ntsc uc so its useless on PAL machine.
mc slots? i never use them.
usb? 2 should be enough.
hdmi + wifi + lower price? Hell yeah. Hope this baby can find its way to our shores.
