QUOTE(alex890628 @ May 29 2010, 07:07 PM) She isn't. As a matter of fact at this time, she is only the program leader for Accounting program. Mr Chong (replacing Mr Chang) is the new Head of Accounting and Finance program. Why I know this? Because I'm the one who went to see him for 2-3 times in matters regarding course selection. He also handles Accounting students (students not from Accounting and Finance). |

QUOTE(ShiningForce @ Jun 3 2010, 02:25 AM) Eh, what happened to the FOMIT this semester a? 7 Subjects? Crazy! Keep changing the timetable t(-.-t).. I am cutting down from 7 subjects to 4 subjects this semester .. T.T Add / drop subjects both for 2 times Slow response , even approved this week, next week i would have to drop the particular subject again, because TT changed again Problem can't even solve when u lodge your complaint on them Even they received your complaint and try to figure out some alternatives, useless as well, cause the TT gonna changed again or it's already week 4 ~ week 5 . Hard to catch up the syllables And now, they even apply the magnet lock for the FOMIT front door~~ About the TT, I already voiced it out on previous posts here but seems like here is not the right place to voice your complaints. Basically we cannot do anything about this but to accept it as the way it is. Students Affairs, Dean, PCR committees (which I think is a waste of time), bla bla and more. QUOTE(hahijaw @ Jun 3 2010, 08:26 PM) I know UCSI fashion design with marketing degree courses fees are around 52k. do the ptptn cover the fees? how much the ptptn lend us for this kind of courses? different courses gets different amount right? PTPTN offered for UCSI is only up to $8,000 per semester (long semester basis) meaning 16k a year. 48K is the full loan amount. You might need to top up another 4k? (And 7k - 8k for the first semester)And be reminded that due to the new course, there have been slight problem with registering it with JPS. The disbursement process will take some time. QUOTE(kael90 @ Jun 10 2010, 11:22 PM) i din even realised the FOMIT office door was locked...isit because of the exam seasons where lecturers dont want their questions to leak out? Partially. They decided to enforce strict regulations for FOMIT faculty because previously there is one case of leakage of final examination questions and the lecturers have to change all the contents of their papers at the very last minute. They decided to enforce strictly with the regulation then and stick strictly to the consultation hours. What I recommend you to do is to snap a picture of consultation hours posted at notice board and note down the respective person's email address and email them for appointment. This is the solution for the time being. |

Very hard to say if UCSI is recognized in your country. You better check if there is a need to recognize engineering degrees back at your home country and see what is the criteria needed to get your degree verified/recgonized before enrolling in UCSI.

QUOTE(Khriss @ Nov 14 2010, 11:47 PM) hey guys ~ With regards to that, racial distribution in UCSI consists of various ethnicity but do take note that racial polarization is high and I cannot deny that other University also has equal level of racial division. not to be racist, but how is the racial distribution in ucsi? actually im asking coz im a very talkative (but only english and malay) speaker and i get annoyed if i cant talk just coz everyone else is speaking chinese nonstop. so i guess the more appropriate question would be how is the % of english speakers in UCSI that frequently speak in english? But I don't think language is much of a barrier in the communication process. It just puts you at a little bit of disadvantage. |

QUOTE(xiemin90 @ Feb 8 2011, 03:24 PM) Hi, I beg to differ regarding the language spoken in UCSI. I'm a final year in this university so I know more or less of the culture in UCSI. Most of the student here speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and English. But not all of them are bad in English. There are students who speaks good english. It really depends on which group or friends you mix with. Some will be good in Mandarin but some will be good in English. I'm in Year 2 before leaving UCSI so I can have a fair share of my experience in this level. I've taken a total of 16 subjects and have handled more than a dozen of assignments. I'm not sure whether we're at the same faculty, but I must say that student that speaks good (basic level) does not necessarily equal to well written English. Every time there's an assignment due, I have to become the editor and edit the statements one by one. Also, plagiarism is very high, that is pasting something without credits to the original author. Not sure how they can pass previous assignments with flying colors, but if that is the standard we're talking about, then in no way is it a good English. In my group, all of us speak good english with mixture of cantonese and mandarin. ![]() Above is a photo taken outside FOMIT office in the morning. So now I've included proof to my post. |

So that means if you based on the calculation from Student Handbook 2010, CGPA is only counted on the second and final year right?
This is a serious case of misconduct of professionalism and integrity by the University. I'll need to check the latest issue of the Student Handbook for reference and evidence collection purposes. This post has been edited by Icehart: Mar 6 2011, 01:17 AM |

QUOTE(Visionary @ Mar 6 2011, 12:51 PM) If where I'm studying is going to be at the North Campus, should I stay nearby the North Campus? All of my friends are going to be in the South Campus and we plan to live off campus. Should I just ditch them to be more convenient and live nearby North Campus or just live at South and take shuttle buses? Would you recommend that? Just stay together, the shuttle bus is quite frequent in trips between South and North. If you don't feel like taking bus, a 15 minutes walk is what you need from South to North |
