Its one thing to get skinned by a quick and agile forward, but this garbage Maguire got skinned by someone who is taller than him.

Harry Maguire's decision making was costly in conceding the goal. With the ball that high up the pitch and McTominay backtracking, no reason to engage. But engage he did and got turned.

Another game where we see possession and more chance creation but finishing let us down. VAR and defensive lapses have been annoying lately.

There is a better structure in the team now but the familiar MF weakness is still there. McTominay is not a DM and his positioning can be wonky at times.

there is a part when shaw received the ball under pressure, he looking up, nobody is willing to receive his pass, he keep on pointing the center towards mctominay, but he is hiding behid the opponents, so he backpass with frustrated body language

not sure what happen between shaw and the center midfields ..

You are absolutely spot on. The one big symptom that shows McTominay isn't a DM is that he does not take the ball of the back 4. So we continue to see the CB trying to lob passes forward without any sort of midfield connection.
McT is too easily taken out of the buildup by the opposition team as he sits in the cover shadow.

Midfield got no control. Nobody to received the pass in central area. You can see the back four pass to each other and then it’s down the wing. Pogba and Fernandez both playing AM and high up the pitch.

Maguire got the anticipation all wrong. 1st he move away from the ball thinking the pass is overhead to Rodriguez, then decided the engage and all he got is Mctominay (all so familiar of him taking out own teammates)

No point blaming McTominay or Maguire. If they are that bad, surely 3 managers wont play them <dont blame me, i just use the same logic VDB didnt get any chance to play>
