QUOTE(statikinetic @ Jan 4 2022, 04:52 PM) Let's see if all of us can agree on the expectations and RR. I excited for RR for the club building not his managing, so I hope we stick to the plan of getting a long term manager after this season. I really hope we do sign some RB players in this window mainly Laimer and Josko Gvardiol Should we judge if RR is the right man for the job? No. Not at least until the end of the season. A manager has to be given time and space to work with the team. We are two months in, not two years. There are two types of managers, system managers and adaptable ones. System managers are managers that subscribe to a particular system, like Pep's positional play or Klopp's gegenpressing. Adaptable managers are like Ancelotti, who goes to a team and sets it up the best he can with the players he has. Rangnick is a system manager, and system adoption takes time to drill into the players. Not all players will fit into the system and some will need to go. Like Martial. Are the results expected? Yes. With a new tactical approach, what we will see is inconsistency during the bedding in period. Which means bad performances as well as good. Recall the pressure based attacking football in the 1-0 win against Norwich. We should have scored more than one. Constrast that against the dull performance against Wolves and Newcastle.RR is trying to drill in a new style of play into the team, but we can see the team reverting to old styles under Ole from time to time. Players who fail to adapt should be moved on. This is the time to experiment on who can play the new way. Phil Jones being given a chance is good to see. RR is getting to know his players and giving them chances. Is the draw against Newcastle and loss against Wolves acceptable? No because we are Manchester United. Yes because we are learning to play a new way. Are we making progress? In a sense yes. Because a couple of months ago we were losing 4-2 to LEI, 5-0 to LIV, 2-0 to MCI and 4-1 to Watford. Almost the worst defence in the League. Since then, we have been conceding one goal a game on average. It should get better. When can we expect Manchester United to play the Manchester United way (Attacking football)? Personally I think not until next season. Let me put forward the top two world class system managers in the world. Pep and Klopp. Pep, with an unlimited bank account still took at least two seasons to get the team to play the way he wanted. Fans were laughing at City after the first season and saying Pep was a fraud remember? Klopp? Without oil money, it took him 4 seasons with club backing. To expect RR to transform us completely in half a season might be too much. If I see improvements in play by end of the season and us playing in the right direction, I'd back him for perm manager. Why is RR playing Matic? Because he realizes what all of us have been talking about. Matic is the only natural 6 in the team, and both McFred are actually 8s. No surprise Fred and McTominay have been putting in better performances because they have been playing in their preferred positions. Matic is the only 6 which allows the 8 to play but he is too old for the role. The 6 requires natural positioning which nither McFred has. I expect a CDM to be top priority this month to buy. What if the board appoints a new manager at the end of the season who does not want to play gegenpressing? Then the board once again is proved to be imcompetent, the footballing soul of Manchester United is dead and we are a corporate entity through and through. RR's appointment is a commitment by the club to play a certain way and whoever the new manager is, it is expected he continue along the same lines instead of resetting the team again. I expect RR to at least have an influence in whoever is going to be appointed, or RR himself to be in that role. As fans, where do we go from here? As Sir Alex once said, now is the time to back the manager. We got what we wanted. Ole out. Now back the new man and all players get a clean slate. Step up or get out. If big players like Bruno don't perform, bench them. I'm not sticking up for the players now. Manager has changed, time for the players to be accountable. |

QUOTE(statikinetic @ Jan 23 2022, 01:11 AM) Martial was effective in advancing the ball in that left side of the final third. He's made more chances for the team when he came on. Wondering where was Sancho though. Martial on the left and Sancho/VDB on the right to feed the forwards instead? Sancho has death in the family |

QUOTE(even_steven @ Jan 28 2022, 06:25 PM) Are you for real? Ander is way above McT and Fred level. He played with his heart on his sleeve. He played with passion and love for the club. Proper Pashun merchant, warmed the PSG bench. One of the player that got the best footballing brains on the pitch. He can read the game and do what it takes to adapt to the game. Man marking, defensive track back, even tactical foul. He even pocketed prime Eden Hazard. The club really under appreciate him. |

QUOTE(Cloud0890 @ Jan 30 2022, 09:18 PM) I mean...Ronaldo pretty much did the same and had admission on record of rape with his lawyer and no one really gave a fuck because he is Ronaldo and he shut her up with money. Its not even remotely the same, you are basing that on a tabloid leaking that, this is the victim positing it on their own social media. If you use your guilty until proven innocent logic there are loads of people in the wrong out there, Kobe being on that instantly comes to mind. |

QUOTE(yvliew @ Jan 31 2022, 04:49 PM) He smoking crap., Yesterday saw what he post about Herrera being overrated. This guy have some issue up there. I laugh.. Herrera was the best player we let go in recent time. Herrera was under appreciated by MU. Was real mad at woodward not handling it well. The reason it seems like I have an agenda against him is because people are overrating him simple as that.Just ignore that guy. I refrain from posting reply to him but again and again. |

Its one thing to get skinned by a quick and agile forward, but this garbage Maguire got skinned by someone who is taller than him.

QUOTE(aaron1717 @ Feb 11 2022, 10:20 AM) he must run away with the competition quality in ligue 1... if that one also cant win with the squad he have in PSG... i doubt he can win anything lol Dude i know that squad is star studded but its so imbalanced, none of the attackers do any tracking back, now even their RB is a super attacking one. Poch likes to press high and have a hard working team but he isnt going to get that from that team. For me first choice is Ten Haag but i cant ignore the things Poch had achieved in the PL, so he would be my second choice. Either way, we could have the best manager in the world but if the higher ups fuck around then we arent going to improve. I hope RR will have a bigger say in the overall direction of the club in the future. This post has been edited by simmarjit: Feb 12 2022, 03:39 AM |

QUOTE(john_white @ Feb 14 2022, 09:41 AM) He has always been a volumes merchant, he scores loads from loads of chances, now we are expecting him to score with 2/3 chances. I feel the whole team has some issue rather than individuals even the fridge Maguire could play better if the team shape was better. |

QUOTE(statikinetic @ Feb 18 2022, 12:40 AM) Seeing more news reports on the dressing room divide in the United team. Well he is the only one with elite mentality in the team, regardless of his narcissism, it can only be a good thing. People dont agree with his views, can get the hell out of the club.Apparently the English group of which Maguire and Rashford were named does not like Ronaldo trying to lead the dressing room and speaking out about the lack of standards. Take what you want from the leaks. Looks like the biggest impact to the club was Ronaldo's transfer. Someone who walks into the dressing room and identified the rot. Ronaldo may be a legend, but he does not have age on his side. The English players have long term contracts and commercial value on their side. |
