although i'd really prefer to spend less money by buying the Saga. Pros and cons la.
Pros: U get a new car with superb handling and plenty of space that's cheap and pretty to look at, lower interest rate than 2nd hand car, no need to go mechanic to check this check that, no need to worry about where the car has been in the past etc
Cons: Waiting period, car still in experimental stage of its sale and distribution, and plenty of uncertainties as the reputation of the car is not yet established
So advice: Those of u who can wait, be patient
Those who think u cannot, come up with a backup plan

May i know usually when u guys apply for loan?
can i wait my car arrive then only apply? because I not sure how much i will have by the time the car is arrive, maybe can pay for more downpayment.

You can dream about that , how i hope i can do that as well, without loan they wont release the car to u even if the car is ready stock. Or alternative you can buy using cash. one lum sum

No, i think u misunderstand my meaning.
I mean i place booking Rm500 then when the car arrive maybe July 1st, then i only start to go bank to find loan? But of course without get the loan i'm not able to get the car lah.
So when the car arrived at branch on 1st July, i go ask for loan maybe ~1weeks, and about 8th July i only collect the car from the SA, is it possible?

Once u book, u need to ready all the document for loan.
No car will be release without the loan.
If i'm not mistaken, SA will ask how many deposit once u place the booking. Correct?

aik, really ah? when did u booked, what version? do u keep update with ur SA? if i were u, i'll call my SA everyday until he tension on me

No, i was thinking of doing like what ychwang says: like now i have lets say 4000 in the bank, so i can only afford 10% d/p. But since the waiting period is 6 months, by that time i'll maybe have 10,000 in the bank then can afford 20% d/p. Can i just apply for an 80% loan now knowing i can put down 8k d/p when the car comes?

Your methods definately can work, bcoz u only need to pay ur downpaymet when the car arrive together with your loan cheque by bank.

Mine situation is difference, let say i got 4k, but i not sure after 6month i will have 10k or 20k. So i only apply loan when the car arrive at service center, after paid it to collecct the car?

Oh, now i get you. This method might not work, since they want to see your loan documents before alloting a car for you...

then how if buy it with cash? do i need to show them my $$? but $$ only paid once the car is arrive at the branches rite?
