What are the chances of getting the iPhone 17 (new contract) although I still have 4 more months of current contract outstanding?
*
As long as you are okay to pay the early termination fee,

4 more months contract i guess the fee is about RM2xx if you are using Maxis Telco?

Maxis App can check your current contract Early Termination Fee.

Anyone traded in with Maxis? So the trade in value is credited into your monthly bills?
Not credit back into your credit card/bank account?

Don’t think I’d like a RM3k credit lying inside my Maxis bill only to be used to deduct monthly Maxis fees…

Just sharing to maxis forumers.

I paid rm209 for contract early termination on Fri 12th Sep morning so that i can PO under CD that night. My contract expiry date was another 3 days on 25th…

Until now, my order is not yet process at all by CD..

So i complaint & asked CD to refund back the rm209 fee since for sure the new ip17 will arrive after 25th.. (i think most likely will be rejected though)

I always get my new iphone on Day 1.
But not this year though..

Next 2 years need to terminate again.. haih.. same thing every year for those pocket not deep enough to buy the iphone & pay lump sum..

Haha, I also do not want that which is why I’m still waiting for the branch to have stock before walking in to trade in. They told me this is the only way they can only use the trade in value to offset the device price for normal contract and not put the value into the monthly billl, which is why I have not preordered the phone.

I have no experience with CD but I was with C during iPhone 5S time and the experience was not great. But if I remember correctly back then still can have 1 year contract, so waiting out the contract validity wasn’t as painful! Anyways, hope you get yours on the 25th!

Correct, if you do it online, you get the phone value credited back to your account which means 20-25 months of no paying bills? Haha…

ya noe, if u dont fully utilize yor postpaid, it is also a waste of money. its cheaper in the long run to buy direct instead of contract device.

Although the device trade-in amount is appealing, i’m reluctant because of the monthly bill rebate. I did press the live chat agent on this, and they mentioned that this is the only rebate method at the moment.

That’s what they told me too, although the folks at the centre told me they can use the trade-in value to offset the device price at point of purchase physically at the centre, but not if you already pre-ordered or bought the phone online.

You gotten yours?

Nope. If what you said is true, then i’ll wait for the stocks to normalize and purchase it in-store. I’m in no rush tbh. I got my 16 PM back in the November last year.

Haha, yeah, I’m in no hurry too. My 15 Pro Max contract expired last week so I went to maxis and switched out my 139 plan to 109 - since they now allow those on the 109 plan to get the phone with a normal contract. Already using maxis home fibre so my data is already unlimited smile.gif Now… just need to wait for the phone to be available smile.gif

Sorry for the late reply bro, was overseas for work.

No, you can downgrade your existing line as long as you don’t have an active contract.

Anyways, I finally got mine smile.gif

Great sharing ! Which mean I need walk in Maxis enquiry about it, because thru Maxis app it have no RM109/monthly package to select. My previous 24-months normal contract just expired few days ago.

Yes I would like to know Maxis use your old phone trade-in value to offset your new phone price or how ?

Nope, they offset from the device price, so I ended up paying just below RM1,500 for it at full contract price. Well worth the wait!

Yes correct. They can only do that if you walk in and trade in at their centre, if you preorder or buy the phone online and trade in later, they will just credit the phone value to your phone bill.

Good stuff! I guess this offer only applies to official Maxis Centres. Cos at authorized resellers, they always state that they rebate it to your monthly bill. Even the customer service from Maxis Chat says so.
