I bought an apple product from 3rd party lazada store, when I received the item, I checked it with Apple's website https://checkcoverage.apple.com/ and it shows that my device is under warranty until like august 2022

Today, I randomly check my device warranty and it suddenly shows that it has expired.

Anyone experience something like this before?

I've contacted lazada to attempt to solve the issue but still I'm wondering how a device with warranty can suddenly changed to no warranty.

THREAD SUMMARY:
My airpods pro is fake as the manufacturer is Ericsson instead of Apple (got the info once I connect it to my MBP > System Information)

Thanks to micwin1437 for pointing out

the seller who sold me fake airpods is most likely now selling again using different store, BEWARE!

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/malaysia...1545579610.html
https://www.lazada.com.my/shop/malay-official-store/

I requested refund after the 15 days, initially lazada do not entertain my request.
I reported to KPDNHEP, several days later, lazada call me and requested that I return the item to seller (they provide seller address via email)
I got full refund to my credit card approximately in 15 days

Duh. Apple is international warranty. Doesnt matter where you got it. As long as your invoice is legit, they can check in their system if the device was activated or used before

No harm calling up Apple Support. I was just on the phone with them yesterday to resolve a warranty issue.

If bought from switch/machine/sengheng lazada yes i know the invoice should be accepted.
But if bought from some 3rd party unauthorized seller, i doubt they will accept it.

Please save or screenshot the shop's online page details and send it to Apple Support. Normally Apple Support will assist as long as you purchased it with a receipt from a shop.

The store already MIA, both store & item page will result in page not found; that's why I contacted lazada to help with the case.
Well, I learnt my lesson not to buy expensive stuff from unknown seller eventhough the store got good reviews, seems like it can be faked.
My device (APP) is working fine though. It's just that I'm having some trouble getting it updated to the latest firmware which I believe is a common problem.

At least when you unbox it and check the warranty it does show until August 2022, but suddenly changed to not covered warranty.. could be system error or something...dont panic yet at least you have seen the August 2022.. but the store Mia is something to be cautious about.. check with lazada first, simultaneously check with Apple CS via Live chat.. they can help you with serial number to verify the device further..

well, cs just booked an appointment for me at switch@lowyat to check my APP firmware; cs said in their system, service & repair coverage is still upto august 2022
i didn't mention about the info in the website as it was a very noisy call from singapore, hardly able to hear each other as my condo has lousy network coverage

Which seller you bought from?
Can screenshot your lazada purchase?
Sealed box product will not have expire date 2 months before you connect to the device.
Most probably recycled serial number being used.
101% the APP you have purchased is fake.
Use a MacBook to check on the manufacturer whether it’s Apple or other brand before going to switch.

Beware switch will charge service fee if the item you send in is fake no matter you know or do not know whether it fake.

Please refer to the post below :
The lazada seller also disappear already….

Same case as bro -renoma-

Manufacturer should be Apple….
I do not think Ericsson manufacture AAP for Apple…

Fight for refund from lazada, and if fail, report to consumer tribunal…

Good luck…hope you can get the refund from lazada as lazada should know that the seller sells fake product or else lazada would not have unlist the seller…

It was written genuine and original in his ad, but under specification, it was written as 'no brand' though..not sure how lazada will deal with these..

Not easy for Lazada to filter the fakes one as there are too many accounts and products….

good tactic for the conman/seller to bait price conscious/ inexperienced buyer….

- buyer received item and check have warranty on Apple website
- buyer satisfied
- one week later, lazada release payment to seller
- by the time the first buyer realise it’s a fake product months later, the seller does not mind lazada closing their account as the conman can just easily register another new account again..

True that its easy for scammers to open new accounts.. Still I don't get how these fake units have valid warranty at first, then a week later say warranty not recognised??
