Dune - One of the best films

I love BR2049 and Dune

Their costumes more elaborate in the first one but their armor and visual effects of the personal shields were yuckkkkk. I like the armor designs for this one and of course the personal shield effects wins hands down. Even the way they showed warheads penetrating the shields of the ships looked cool

I slept twice during the movie for half an hour , what a snooze fest 😴

My first encounter dune was Westwood studio games dune 2000. Still a legend game after final release emperor battle for dune. Then there a dune series on hallmark channels.

why is oil needed for motokar?

If my memory is not wrong, the navigators need to take spice to navigate safely through warp space.

Dunno want to laugh or what,... Didn't realize we can make a wormhole to warp to another dimension using serbuk kunyit

Can't really compare special effects from the 80's to CGI tech today.

Even the original Star Wars effects and prequels look dated today.

Interstellar pilots (called Navigators) use spice to elevate their sense.

did not like the Dune series last time but was a big fan of the PC game Dune II
granddaddy of RTS for C&C and others.

anyone remember the old game.
your tanks or troop travelling across the sand may get eaten by the sand worms.
it was epic back then!

easy no brainer movie for mongoloid

you already got the sequel sneak peak in paul Atreides vision....so expect the part 2 to be more action

Its a great movie but it can only remain great if there's part 2 and part 3 and so on. That means only if this movie is a success. This 'part 1' is too much world building, its great but its going to takes time. A movie might not be a great way to approach this story but all the cast a movie actor though and i dont think we'll ever get any of them in a series, so yeah, how great this movie is depends on if it have continuation or not

I think this Dune is trapped between two requirements:
1. The book readers who wants the deep political, ecological, theological, philosophical dialogue/plot found in the book.
2. the studio's need to dumb it down and focus on visual aesthetics to cater to the masses

In trying to satisfy both... it fails to capture either audience.

It is used by navigators to navigate safely through warp space.

Dune warp space is not like Star Wars or Star Trek which rely on computers.

Dune world do not really have computers despite their advance tech.

Again if I am not mistaken, they have gone through terminator type past where there were wars with machines and that is why they abandoned computers.

Yeah that vision in the trailer actually threw me off. I honestly thought this movie gonna cover all 😂

i think they are testing water first if there is ppl watching this movie ....if successful then probably they make a sequel coz there is so much to tell in the part 2.....if all the movie goers are like /k comment ...habis there wont be sequel...i hope they don screw up the second part like what happen in american gods....
