These imported sets, most of them won't get VOLTE support from local telcos right? Anything to consider like call services etc?

QUOTE(cruzzmz @ Oct 19 2021, 08:52 PM) I don't think the set won't support volte .. it is Telco unlock and should work fine Just that our Telco has fully implimented it or not QUOTE(mikeeeee @ Oct 19 2021, 09:41 PM) Problem is not the phone don't support volte, just that our Telco may not want to enable the volte for models not registered in MY. Currently I'm having this issue with unifi mobile, phone confirm support volte, network also support volte but pixel is not within their compatible phone list Ya. My worry is our local telcos support. I know most devices nowadays are Volte compatible. My Note 8 previously already got Volte with digi but once I changed to Pixel, it's no longer available. A bit worried cause it drops to 3g during call. This post has been edited by singgung: Oct 19 2021, 10:18 PM |

Really tempted to get and seeing the price, undecided which one to get. I thought they'll be much more expensive and was set on getting the 6 only. Now to wait how much the price will be jacked jere.

QUOTE(crusher @ Oct 20 2021, 10:40 AM) In another sg forum are concerning whether they can use 5g or not while we worrying if we can use volte for this pixel 6. I received notification from digi to upgrade my phone since it doesn't have Volte. Pixel 3. Not that it doesn't support, more like digi only activates volte on phones that are officially available in Malaysia. Most of them anyways. This is the only issue that makes me wary of getting the phone. So far, malaysia only maxis phasing out 3g right? I believe digi and celcom still have use the 3g spectrum? |

I chat with digi CS just now regarding volte and according to her 3g will only be off once they launch 5g, which is estimated next year. I asked if they haven't launch 5g by year end, will 3g still be available next year and was given non-committal answer and link to JENDELA. Lol.
Also if phone doesn't have Volte, network connection will drop to 2g during calls once 5g is launched. |

QUOTE(neuromancerx @ Oct 23 2021, 09:47 PM) I'm a DiGi subscriber and my phone is not in the VoLTE supported phone. What I did was to call CS and asked them to manually activate it (nowadays can easily enabled from MyDiGi app). Then I enabled VoLTE option from my phone. Walla, VoLTE is now enabled (and when im at home i noticed it uses VoWiFi). I've tried this method but doesn't seem to work. I received sms Volte activated but no volte sign on my phone. Or option to enable it. |

QUOTE(cruzzmz @ Oct 24 2021, 12:02 PM) Nope. Dropped to H/3G. No toggle in phone settings or digi app. When i was using a phone supported by digi for Volte, there's a toggle to activate / deactivate Volte in the digi app itself. |

Some videos / camera comparisons already available in YouTube i think. Really can't decide which one I want to go with, if I decide to buy. I like colours, size and flat screen of Pixel 6. It also easier on my wallet. But I also prefer Pixel 6 pro battery and screen resolution.
Edit : I think no videos yet. Embargo lifts around midnight. Such long time waiting for reviews. This post has been edited by singgung: Oct 25 2021, 10:43 PM |

When watching pixel 6 reviews, think it's sufficient already. When watching pixel 6 pro reviews, think better go for extra. Lol.

Surprised that mkbhd's battery review is not favourable when other reviewers reported good battery life. Was also hoping that he would touch more on the camera true tone feature but didn't notice any.

QUOTE(shinichi31 @ Oct 28 2021, 09:38 PM) Seems like there's a bit of mystery around this. Some reviewers are getting mkbhd's SOT(3-4 hours), some are getting 8-10 hours SOT. Not sure what's going on I saw the tweet and laugh a little. Maybe 5g / 4g / wifi connectivity contribute to the differences. So far I haven't seen reviews with battery life as bad as mkbhd but he always says he sets his screen brightness to max and he's pretty hard on the phone. |

QUOTE(chriscym @ Nov 9 2021, 07:18 PM) Like SMS, MMS, 3G, 4G it is not tied to phone model, not sure why VoLTE need to have the phone model provisioned to work. I hope 5G doesn't use this silly phone matching provisioning requirement. But this is not happening in Malaysia only. I've read users from countries that do not sell Pixels officially, asking about this issue. Wonder why also. cruzzmz liked this post

QUOTE(chriscym @ Nov 19 2021, 03:03 PM) anyone ordering the 256 gb P6? I just check today Google USA for Pro 128gb is opening up for order again, so I am hopeful techbug will open the order soon. I initially was aiming for 128gb, coming from 64gb pixel 3. 64gb is definitely not sufficient since my work requires photo records but luckily pixel 3 offers unlimited Google photos cloud backup. Then i remember Google doesn't offer unlimited backup with pixel 6 and I'm most likely going with 256gb.I am wondering if 256gb is an overkill. I hardly take 4k video, but if I need to 256gb will come handy with the extra capacity especially when use during travel. |

Quite a number of 'a month after' reviews on YouTube. Most occurring theme is "battery could be better, not as good as they expected, but most people should be ok as a 1-day device". I personally would be ok if it can last me 1 day as my current device is "charge whenever I'm at my table". Lol. Most of the reviews are on Pro variant though. Wonder how battery is with our local telcos, without 5g.
I also notice most of the reviewers sound like they want to butter this phone / google. Highlighting some shortcomings but then downplaying them or reason with "could be improved with software updates". Maybe because of the price, but they are not as critical as with other phones. |

In Techbug telegram got people asked about connectivity using umobile and they agree there's problem with umobile. All these uncertainties about telco connectivity is quite worrying 😅😅 Don't know can complain or not since the phone is not officially sold here. So far here looks like only maxis users.

Based on the query, not volte. No service / data.
Volte is pretty much confirmed no official support as of now. |
