Am looking at the Civic but have one concern. You guys are not worried about the sticky steering issue after the 5 years warranty period?

CVT no issue so far.. about the CVT whining sound i dont really notice it, sounds just like my previous 6AT car.

as for the steering rack.. since still surveying. can just wait and see next year..
in FB group there're people saying about improve rack, but personally i dont really believe it 

I prefer everything stock lol. see those enkei rims cost 4k-8k.. range quite big and expensive. Saw somebody selling 4pcs ehev rim 2.5k.. hmm.. our honda enkei is thailand made or made in msia?

i notice my car have white smoke come out from exhaust while waiting at traffic, look like water vapour. is this normal?

My gripes (for now) are the rattling/squeaking and generally the (lack of) quality for a 150k car. Just disappointed with some of the cheapening out stuff. For example, FC's pedal shift has rubber texture behind which makes it nice to rest your fingers on it, but the FE they cheapen it and remove the rubber texture and left it with hard plastic.

Regrets generally no, still a nice car to drive. But you should scout Mazda 3 if you are in the market. I really like that car, drive superb just lack of power for me hence the Civic.

Care to share any other package they offer?

What package you’re intending to get, how long to complete it, what’s the expected sound reduction, number of layers applied incl location?

Can they achieve Lexus type of quietness?

12 speaker BOSE and 360 camera... can install on civic or not..

4 Doors + full floor + front fender + roof. All max layers (doesn't means all have 4 layers).  I didn't do front engine hood because I believe it's meant to release heat and should be having no noise deadening material that might trap the heat.
I don't have a Lexus, but my little experience and advice is I usually don't compare non-premium car to premium car. But it is definitely much much more better than the stock condition especially on eliminating the road and wind noise. I have noticed very tiny wind noise on driver side from 100+ km/h onwards because I believe it's caused by sun visors.  If doesn't have them I believe the result is much better. Also heavy rain noise now sounds like zen noise to me haha...

Yea here you go. feel free to raise anything. I wanna learn from it as well.


Using PS4, sound deadening results after hitting 1000km today:
small rain - fading sound, with low ambient music vol at 9 you won't able to hear rain drops.
big rain - "thick" fading sound, very ease on ears.
any speed at smooth highway road - perfect
kepong road - sweet
rough road at low speed < 60km/h - sweet
rough road at high speed-< 80km/h - won't call it sweet but much better compared to without sound deadening.
rougher road at high speed >80 - terrible, won't help

wind noise with sun visor at < 100km/h - perfect
wind noise with sun visor at >= 100km/h - slightly noticeable.

Again I'm not comparing this ranks to premium cars ya.
Pro:
1. music is noticable solid < THIS.
2. Cost-effectiveness: my feeling is in between 85% <= and  < 90% (won't get 90%).
3. added some value to the car.
4. all doors are heavier and door closing sound is solid and deep.
5. no rattling sound so far as they re-install almost everything in a nice way. They showed me some proofs about poor installation work especially over-screwed, crooked, exhausted and worn bolts here and there done by the manufacturer factory. 

Cons:
1. Disappointed at result of high speed on rough road (the white-ish rough road, I don't know is it called concrete road?), won't really help.
2. adding 30kg to the car.
3. expensive.

bolded can be improve by changing into touring tyre..I use ventus prime 3 before ps4. the ps4 is really noisy. I had done soundproof too. tyre rolling noise indeed come from rubber itself. use touring tyre improve a lot especially when u hit rough tarmac.

Civic hybrid now discount at least 10k , what is wrong with  Honda, last few mths still jual Mahal, say waiting list at least 4-6mth with only 1k discount

Just called and check one SA. 2.5k Rebate for V spec only. He laughed off when I told him got people getting 8k. lol

What's everybody's plan after the 5yrs with the car? We can't be changing steering racks every year right?

Fix outside confirm ok? If can ok why honda never able to fix it lol.

They have been having juddering problems since the early 2000s. It was a very famous problem with the Accords back then. They even had a recall to change the pads to the Japanese made ones which solved it. Most if not all the brake pads are either from Thailand or somewhere else and different from the ones they can get from Japan.

I've used aftermarket pads after my warranty with them back then. Never had problems with juddering after that. You can try to source Nissin Japan parts, I believe it will solve it as well.

They kept replacing the pads for me whenever I complained juddering. So basically did not have to pay for brake pads for almost 7 years.

I had it changed on the City twice during the warranty. And it's happening again. Since it's now out of warranty, don't know what to change to as most aftermarket I used generate tons of brake dust (Bendix, Brembo, Trestor).

Wanna ask, u guys brake juddering is like when u driving u press brake u can feel like helicopter sound like that?

How's the brake dust comparing to the original?
