Why not cx-30? Since space is no more a concern, still want a low car hehe?
*
dont really like the matte widebody style around the cx30 haha.

Same spec, same year same mileage as well. Hmmm 95k, but the problem is I don't know what I am gonna replace with if I were to let go. Thinking of Model 3, Mazda 3, Seal even to GR86 and Miata but I know I will miss some part of the Civic.

Took the car for run last Monday PJ-Temiang-Kuala Klawang-Titi-Karak-Genting Sempah-Genting-PJ. Still pun a smile on my face with the ride (both handling and the damping over uneven roads) and power all the way to 160-170 effortlessly without range anxiety haha. My biggest gripe aside the steering rack is the seats  shakehead.gif .

It's a love hate relationship right now. Maybe just live with it until it's unbearable or something scratch my itch.
*
My trigger point was with KPDN, and SC keep telling me nothing wrong. And reading about the issues on FB and Lyn everyday makes me even fired up. doh.gif laugh.gif

and also i just don't like unsolved issues. so just bite the bullet and sell off.

If losing/spending money can get rid of a problem, to me its worth it.

Ya saw FE pricing around 100-120k+ for 22, yr 23 about 120k-130k.
Cuz of these shitty racks pulled down RV.
FC can sell even  near 100k for 2018 car
*
Yup FE doesnt hold its value as strong as FC.
+ new facelift is coming.

there's a saying every man will own a civic in their life, FE is my first civic and i think it'll be the last Honda for me laugh.gif

can post a link?
Mine was a small resistance but if you are talking about substantial force needed, then I only heard happen once to my friend's 2014 City.

The irony is I personally believe this was resolved even on day 1 FE since FC already so famous. Now 2nd hand price is a joke, FC 2020 is more expensive than FE 2022. Both models infamous.
*
The styling of FC holds it value..

FE can’t hold well another factor also the big discounts up to 20k
I think this is the first time I see civic getting so much discounts

The G10 Accord rebates last time kinda high. Thanks to surprisingly high price but getting the "same" as Civic engine, weirdo rear design. Now CRV price at almost rm200k, when many Chinese manufacturers pop in with many more features, lets see in 1 year time. Same FE rebates?
*
I think the brand in MAS now that has very low or even no discounts is Mazda.
My Mazda 3 only get rm500 discount 😂

Asked around friends/families, they told me that’s Mazda style

Here you go, 0:07 - 0:14, it was this 7 seconds that made me decide to forgo buying this car.

Edit: switch on the sound
*
Good choice to not buy this car..

I think in lyn car club thread, only civic FE post, owners become ex owners, ex owners ask potential owners not to buy 😂

I got quoted 107k for my 2023 V spec . Not even 7k mileage yet is it dumb to let go at this price . I'm already having the steering rack issue sigh , sometimes cornering at roundabout also can feel the stickiness already .

Other than that really like the car its still one of the most handsome sedan on the road

Just let go if its bothering you.

Money can earn back, to me its not worth it if it is bothering you daily.

Probably less than 110k as well. You can try to ask for quote.

Hard to see current batch used FE more than 115k nowadays, thanks to dumbass Honda. I think no more Honda for me anymore.
*
Due to big discounts (highest I saw was 19k) and facelift coming

Thinking abt getting a civic. Does the current batch of civic still have the steering rack issue?

But is it possible to fix this issue at the workshop at all if I'm unlucky enough to buy one with this issue
*
To me, if a new civic needs to solve problem at outside workshop.

i would just get a recon 3 series

and in future SC might just say user already dismantle the rack outside. car warranty void. (thats just my assumption, but if im SC i will just remark void, easier to have one less car to settle issues)

Not much of a car guy hence wondering how difficult is it to fix this steering rack problem outside. If I'm really so bad luck kena this problem. But at the same time civic kinda fits what budget and it's kinda what I fancy too.

I read that ppl say the steering rack problem, the steering wheel feel sticky when turning. Does that mean you need to apply more force to turn the wheels or it's really hard to turn it to the point it's dangerous when cornering.
*
no need to apply much force, its the small micro adjustment that is very annoying especially on highway, it is not smooth and needs more force.

if u like driving, that feel sucks big time

Pure speculation on my part, they are probably close to the final root cause. But corrective action may not be so simple as “redistribute” grease and replace the tensioner spring. Maybe it will last you another 1 year.

Which is why they are not recalling FC civic which uses the same design. It’s is because that model is out of warranty and so recalling them AND giving yet another non permanent fix just make them liable for further fixes down the road when those owners come back and say hey come your recall not working in a few years later, and then they will have to offer another solution.

So, I speculate further that FG civic Baru their management all the way from North America side will demand a proper fix. If not cannot sell.

Edit
At least Honda Malaysia is trying to do the right thing.

Imagine SC need to open the rack, regrease and perform the fix in civics, crvs

I hope the technicians will have the patience to do the jobs

So 2 months after the initial tuk sound above, I can now feel the stickiness! Bravo Honda! Rate of degradation much worse than before and I can almost guarantee before 3 years of ownership I will have to replace again
*
Frustrating right?

For now I think just wait if there’s any proper fix by Honda Malaysia.
