Nutrient food? What is that? Hahah... should be some kinda pellets I think.

I did a fast research on Quiko Glider food, seems it was discusses before in a glider forum overseas.... they say that the protein level is low but the ingredients are not really bad.... A few people notice that the food doesn't improve or fatten the gliders at all. Those fed only on Quiko will have dull fur and lanky bodies.... while does fed on fruits and glider mix grow fat with soft fluffy fur.... Hahaha... like mine, all fuzzy fuzzy fuzzy tails.

You can try feeding miu miu at his most hungry hour.... normally the best time is at night.... So in the morning you can feed some mix, 1 teaspoon. Then at night, give fruits. You should try papaya, rambutan and honey dew. If you can find Jambu Air madu, also good.

I spend about Rm10 a week on fruits for my gliders alone.... got pear, apple, papaya, honey dew, sun melon, water chestnut, sometimes got mango and jambu air madu. Twice a week give them a slice of orange.

The 1st page has plenty of info. You also do not need to ask people here as if you got the incentive and interest, sure already Google it.

Wow, curing glider baldness hahahah..... and the cure is so simple, neutering.

Jarrah hasn't bald much.... his scent gland on his chest is not very visible either, maybe coz I never let him mix with Kiah and Kapi yet hahhaah.... Wanna wait till Kiah and Kapi are mature.

She also like hide inside the pouch.
When she scare she will make a big noice.
Still dun know Wat name for her.
May be will call her Gigi because she always make the sound like that.
*
She shy lah.... you have to intro her slowly. If with you alone, she should be ok... the sound is crabbing, normal. This is to show that she is unsure, make the sound to scare off people hahahah....

Coz now different person, from me to you. Now you must bond with her. Talk to her, touch her, massage her. Keep her in the pouch and do this... later slowly intro your hand. She won't bite, just she would be cautious.

Hahaha.... she eats like pig rite? Sure tummy like balloon.

Testing... sometimes if they not sure of something, gliders would use their mouth to test a bit.

Hehehe... good lah that she is not giving you problems. Means she suit you.

Ah. It takes time lah... Bonding doesn't happen in a few days.... 1st, trust... once you gain his trust, then you are on the right track.... bonding takes weeks... sometimes months.

QUOTE(mypetisabunny @ Nov 12 2007, 10:33 PM)
hello everybody,
i dunno nothing abt SG [sugar glider] blush.gif
but i wish to have one soon..anyway i need some information abt SG.
my Q regarding diz..hope anyone can answer it ..thx :
1- How much should i spent to buy a pair of SG? Where to get it?...I'm staying at Puchong actly
2- Do i need to buy it in pair or one is enough?Don't SG feels lonely if i jz buy it alone?
3- Normally, what kind of foods dat i can feed SG?Do they drink milk? yawn.gif
4- Is it difficult to look after 'em?
5- At what age SG will b considering as sexually matured?
6- Will it bite me? hmm.gif

dats all 4 da time being....
*
Why you did not refer to the 1st page?
Anyway, I will still answer but please please read the 1st page.

1) Price for a pair can be anything from RM500 to RM700 depending on where and who you get it from. Look at Garage sale.... Adults are cheaper but they are also wild and untame... tamable but needs LOADS of patience.

2) Gliders are like children, they need friends.... if alone, you would need to almost spend 16 hours with it. 10 hours for bonding and 6 hours play.... can you do that? You may be able to do it in 1 or 2 years but later you will get tired and they got a live span of 10 years! Read the 1st page on why a pair and how much care you must give.

3) Food, read the 1st page.

4) It is not easy to keep them. Think of children.... if you can't tolerate a toddler.... they need attention from owners and also their own species. They are not like dogs or cats or rabbits or hamsters.... their care is much much different as they are nocturnal. Gliders are most active during the late nights like 1am, 4am... some would be active around 11pm... this depends on individual gliders.

5) sexually mature at 7 months.... then it is up to them when to breed. Best is to get single sex pairs to avoid over breeding. Remember, 10 years.... to breed for 10 years is never joyful for an animal.

6) If a joey or glider has never been handled, then yes, it would bite and painful too. Sometimes bleeding also good. We also get scratches everywhere, my arms are all scars from glider claw marks hahahah.

Hahah.. so many nice pictures. I have not been doing any picture taking yet hahahah.... later lah.

Gliders do hide sickness well.... kinda scary coz when we notice it, the condition can be quite serious already. Anyway, if such strange behaviour goes on for 2 to 3 days, then get to a vet for a check up.

Yah Din, I hope you can go to Dr Yeoh and find out what is wrong with your glider.

Bald Spot is really really normal. Hahaha.... scent gland. Neuter the glider then the bald spot will become tiny.

Kembara and Dien

ahaha.... I know that shop, my childhood petshop. Anyway, those gliders are wild ones.... untame, sold for breeding. It was a large shipment, had about 6 large cages, now left with 2. That petshop do business, that's why like that loh.... also he won't simply buy animals that won't move quickly in his shop.... he already told me he won't take hedgehogs that are normal colours hahahah.

QUOTE(NewbieBetta @ Nov 14 2007, 08:45 PM)
agak agak how old those suggies is?
*
They are adults, more than 7 months old. They are mainly sold for breeding, that's why Rm120.

QUOTE(alexchin @ Nov 14 2007, 08:52 PM)
HUN:
my SG, she not interest at all for the meal worm,
may i know how to let her hv interest on it?
*
Oh, you must tempt her.... don't worry lah. Slowly. Cut the mealworms head and let her taste the juice. It will take some time.

QUOTE(alexchin @ Nov 14 2007, 09:10 PM)
"Be sure to always gut load your mealworms or crickets first before feeding your sugar glider "
then wat mean by this?
can i direct put the life mealworm?
thanks
*
Gutload means feeding the mealworms 24 hours before you feed to your glider. Normally the mealworms, you must keep them in a bedding of oats. Then you can give some green veggie like Choy Sum, Kai Lan or Spinach and KangKung. Then also you can throw in some dogfood or fish food.

Hahah... yah, you can tame a wild glider but it takes alot of patience, alot of biting and also time.

Yah, that's the same place I got Jumpy from heheheh.... anyway, I just got 2 new hamsters from that place. Two 3 week old Syrians, solid black eyed cream and solid umbros...

Anyway, back to gliders. The shop sometimes got joey, but not tame lah.... that's why I never get gliders from petshops.... their health also not good. The food given are normally low quality cat food, apples and pear.

Well, I got no idea from jungle or not... but I think it also could be from mass breeding farms overseas... sometimes thailand they can also get. We will never know for sure.
