Hmm, does anyone got feed sugar glider fruits like pineapple & orange, sometime my family having this kind fruits and I'm not sure is it suitable for sugar glider.
I scare the orange acid is no good for sugar glide if feed it for long time.
*
Yes, you can feed oranges.... as for pineapple, not all like and it is best not to give much. Oranges, I give very small pieces like a few cm only. It has Vitamin C and also high in Calcium.

at 1u jusco I saw RM180 adult...but have to buy at least a pair...
*
Well, adults. Do you know why they sell that cheap as adults? Because they are WILD and untame, and for any new owner, it would just be a headache and they would neglect them coz cannot bond properly. The price quoted is for joeys, they are easier to bond but require alot of attention. Adults need a longer time to bond and lots of interaction to tame and many people lack the patience to do this, in the end resulting in abandon gliders released in our local jungles, which leads to them becoming food or dying of hunger....

hun, kp, thanx for replying in the sales thread ya smile.gif

another advice needed: wasabi likes to poo on my arms. u see, at night i just let him roam around, n he tend to come to me, main main n nibble nibble n jump jump on me, which is fine because it's so adorable.

the thing is, he always, ALWAYS poos n pees on my arms. on average 1 night i go wash my hands around 4-5 times. 1 time i felt so uncomfortable i go mandi at 5am

help me ya smile.gif

how to stop that? i dont mind him poo on lantai, i can alway buang/lap.
*
LOL.... Wasabi sees you as his tree... so it is normal for them to poo in their favourite trees. I get peed and pooped on everytime.

minumum how much do i need if i wanna get 1 baby SG , cage and food stuff ?? can SG afford noisy place such as arcade , cyber cafe ??
*
Did you read up on gliders? Do you know their lifespan? Do you know that they need to have companions? Did you know that most sellers sell them underage, and if you do not provide proper care, you could end up with a dead joey? Cheap prices won't give you quality things.....

MidValley, that is Pets Wonderland... the price is super high, and the health is not that great.

Search the garage sales here.... you can find them cheaper but beware, some sell them too young. Best is to locate a good seller.

If you constantly update yourself with glider info, then you'll be a good glider owner but prepare yourself with lots of knowledge, all the accessories and cage, seek advice and scout around for a joey. Be patient, the right joey would come to you for sure.

Who &/or What the hell is "blue alien stitch & marsupalami ???????.

Also is the plastic mesh people in Malaysia use a "rigid" type of plastic ??. We have rigid plastic mesh up here in about 3 or 4 "hole sizes " - I was thinking about using the rigid mesh but had thoughts about the gliders chewing holes in it & getting out - thought about using galvinised 1/2" mesh ( washed with vinegar or dilute acid bath before using though ). Yr thoughts please
*
Hmm... the mesh is quite hard and sturdy. Not soft mesh.... so far I don't think the glider would chew it. I saw the heavy duty kind before. I think it's called PVC mesh.... not soft like the nylon mesh on the ExoTerra Flexarium.

Galvanized will rust.... unless you can get coated mesh.... so far I found the PVC wrapped galvanized mesh but if the PVC wrap is chewed off, it would rust too.

QUOTE(alexchin @ Oct 30 2007, 09:04 PM)
i agree with that.
my cage also use ABS pipes and plastic netting.
some more u can make the cage vy big tht u wan.
i use a round 3 days to make a 1m X 0.6m X 0.5 m
*
Wah, you DIY your cage? Post a pic lah.

Added on October 30, 2007, 9:13 pmDoesn't this remind you of a glider a bit? To me it has a koala nose but the claws and face does look like a glider hahah.

Yep Hun the BAS face & claws do look like a suggie
I will be converting the old store room into a cage . Thought about the whole room but problems with access to the drain so will convert half only ( animals cant get into the drain anyway ) size will be 4 to 5 ft L x 7 to 8 ft H x 30" W. The front & 2 sides are cement rendered bricks ( have cleaned & painted a month ago so paint should have cured by now ) & the front was going to be gal mesh but after your reply may be the rigid plastic mesh on a varnished timber frame. When done will post pic's
*
If you can watch the animation, do watch it hahah... That's my favourite Disney animation and that pic is a painting by me tongue.gif The show is called Lilo and Stitch.

Anyway, looks like your future gliders would have the best ever cage! I wish I could do that.... Get the thickest plastic mesh that you could find, and staple it to the timber frame. Then if one day the mesh breaks, you can just take out the staples and replace a new mesh.... I think that's easy hehehehe. No need to worry about rust or poisoning.

Did you scold them !!!!. What do your parents think of having a zoo in the house or are they oblivious to having one ??????
If you think my future cage is good I suggest you see the cages (enclosures) at Taronga's Nocturnal house. The ones for the gliders are sparsely decorated to allow them to glide whilst the ones for the feathertail's are like a eucalypt forest - really densly packed which is apparantly what they like.
*
Hahah... I don't think they understand if I scold them. It was back into their cages.... they like to free roam and are like demanding little monsters hahahh.... I'll get some pics once I get my camera back.... my current cam, I just lost my cable so can't load the pics....

Yeah, I also dunno why they don't really read up the 1st page... Since we compiled it from various sources, it's as pack as can be already...

I find that putting actual safe tree branches is good lar, cuz right now the Hibiscus branch that I put in their cage is one of their fav perching and climbing place, plus I can see a lot of stripped bark around smile.gif

It's good to know they have something safe to chew/rip/strip now...

Last time Iggy used to try and chew the cage bars sweat.gif

It took me 2 nights to write up my part loh.... tiring but I said to myself nevermind, it is for newbies to learn..... coz can't simply copy and paste coz violate copyright law mah hahahah....

Yah, branches are great. I do hear Kiah and Kapi gnaw on their branch. I spotted a fat branch on my neighbour's hibiscus tree.... maybe I go curi cut one hahahah

Please pardon my noobness, how does a eucalyptus leaf smell like? sweat.gif
Actually I had tried to sniff its fresh leaf when i was still a kid and when fresh leaf still reachable sweat.gif
I still remember how it smells, and I kinda like it, haha.... laugh.gif
I don't know where they throw it, but definitely not within my apartment
My apartment located just opposite Sri Bintang Utara Cheras, it's called Taman Shamelin Perkasa
Come and take a closer look if you pass by smile.gif
*
Wahhhhh.... how come you stay near my old school? How come I never go and take a look at the trees? LOL... nevermind, that was like 5 years ago LOL.....

Wah, I wanna go get branches liao. Can I meet you somewhere? Maybe you can gather some branches if it happens to fall down or if they chop the tree....

LOL.... not marah... would nag hahaha.... firstly, the little gliders need the crucial time with their moms and also getting the nutritious milk... if separate too early, they can be unhealthy in terms of size or overall general health.

LOL, these kind of insects you cannot avoid coz they come for the rotting smell of old food and old dried pee. The only way is to clean your cage as in really wash everything and replace bedding everyday.

If you spray or burn insect repellent, there is a risk of causing health problems to your gliders.

Those are fruit flies.... try not to confuse people hahah... lalat chai.... they are not fly babies loh heheheh.

I don't see any problem with the flies as I also have those flying around in my room since my gliders are in my room. One way is to buy a Lemon Grass candle. I have one but never use.... Flies do not like the smell of serai....
