online is not mcc, online is payment mode/channel

mcc is determined by the acquirer for the nature of business, seems like ipay88 categorized zcity as departmental "app", probably it sells multiple stuffs, F&B coupons, etc

another "app" categorized as departmental is 1U's 1Pay app

how do you confirm "charged to card"?

1) because of SMS from bank (eg "Thank you for using card xxx")? -- unreliable, as some banks will send the SMS when an ATTEMPT TO AUTHORIZE happend, but not after successful authorization.

2) because of SMS OTP? even more unreliable, as it's just asking for validation before charging


if a transaction failed, it will appear temporary in bank system. wait for a while (about 30mins/1hr) for the txn to complete its validation processes ..... then check again with the bank. they will tell you if that specific transaction already SUCCESS or failed/declined/rejected.


in short, initial checking of txn is not reliable actually.
