hey mind you 15-20k is alot of money for some people. Anyway,85 grand for that 1.5 is simply not worth it. I really would rather get a Suzuki swift CKD with that kinda amount of money and with balance to spare!
*
If 15 to 20k is alot of money for some people, heck they won't even get the small overrated Suzuki Swift when they can get a bigger Persona with lesser money.

E and G have beige interior while S will have gray.

Only four color to choose from: Silver, gray, black, gold/brown.

All have 60/40 foldable rear seats if I'm not wrong, otherwise (if follow Singapore) it is only available in >= G.

S comes with spoiler and (I think) bodykit.

Four color: silver, gold, black, and grayish blue (like the new color in Honda City).

The news I got from SA is most likely 1st batch from Thai, and a lot of pple choose black, 2nd is silver. And mostly take G and S.

plus that fact, other ppl keep saying better to get the new car early of the year instead of year end..

Wait more and you miss the chance for getting a 'CKD' car from Thailand. tongue.gif Plus once the rumor of it as being 'good', by the time you going to book it, you might need to wait for months since everybody is booking - recall the MyVi incidents.

My reason to buy the car is that I just need the car.

Btw, if you can wait, why not just wait. Honda might come out something new too.

Just got info from brochures.
Legroom: Latio > Vios > City
Headroom: Latio >> Vios > City
Bootspace 475L < City 500L.
Cabin entrance space: Vios > City

So for the new vios before complaining is not spacious, complain City first. tongue.gif

well, from what i have been observe, the most complain from people towards the new vios is its look/appearance & interior...

space is something they don't complan this round... tongue.gif
*
Well. It is just weird that people in Lowyat forum condemn its look, whereas people in Thai, Sg, even in Bali they praise the look. Taste is just different here. tongue.gif

The engine should be the same. No additional horsepower. I think there are some finetunings to the gear ratio. That's why the response might be different.  hmm.gif
*
Not gear ratio - it is the transmission control unit (software) that is changed.

I went there as well and took some photographs. Will share it on my photo thread one day. Overall i found out to be okay, especially the black vios. However, i still feel the rear seats is cramp.

Psychology problem? It is only 1cm lesser from Latio in terms of legroom and many more cm larger from City. Headroom is at least 1cm more than City but few cm lesser than Latio. wink.gif If City is spacious and comfortable, this new Vios has surpassed it.

QUOTE
from far really look like yaris

Well City from far looks like Jazz too. wink.gif

The new Vios is now in Toyota showroom. I've sat in all S/G/E. They are so spacious. Boot space is smartly designed as less space is wasted.

Fanboy has no logic whatsoever.

ya, this car should be sold at 50k, umw really suck bloods

As if they had a choice in the first place to dictate the OTR price?! tongue.gif

QUOTE
you sure that M'sia will launch Manual Vios car?

Next year, with the most bare minumum. Around 60k.

QUOTE
The look is still okay but the interior done by UMW. doh.gif Even my friend in Toyota also say the new Vios will be dead. It's a chance for Honda to regain the market.

Well lets see the annual sales. tongue.gif

QUOTE
toyota commited suicide with this design...

forums everywhere... 70% dun like the design
doh.gif

but lucky its a toyota... it will still sell... i think...

Forums always loaded with premature college students and using rich papa money to buy car.

QUOTE
havent's seen any malaysian plate# new vios on the road yet...

and yeah... screw UMW for all those so call reaping-off-stuff-for-cost-cutting...

Got mine Vios G. Interior is superb. WQQ ####. Stuff and panel are all align properly. 5-series uses plastic too. Cushion is no where near thin complain by one of forumer here saying he's able to touch the frame?! I tried hard to press but unable due to the cushion is harder and more solid now. Elevating the front seat is just by pulling or pushing the jack, rather than turning dial like in City. FC still unknow as this is my 1st refill.

p/s: Comes with Bridgestone tires.

new toilet bowl -> vios  thumbup.gif

but, UMW's service fees is very espensive 1, 20k service for labour alone need RM100, as if their technical people is from japan 1 ...
*
The labour charge is about/at least triple of outside. Not that their technician is topnotch from Japan, they just need to feed those admin pple, furnishing the SC operating cost. When end of warranty, just service outside.

when test driving vios ... thinking vios interial is nicer ... but when driving city ... thinking vios more comfortable ...
When listen to the sales man ... City seems to have more safety?

New City most probably comes next year Oct. You buy City now then later new City out, your resale value down more. Interior & exterior are mostly subjective. So if you feel Vios is nicer in mostly everything then choose Vios. If you book later, you might need to wait longer.

IMO, I choose Vios because
1. more cabin space than City, even though Vios boot space is just 25L less than City from the spec but I can't notice the difference City being larger.
2. Foldable rear seat. Yes, City VTEC 2nd FL had foldable rear seat while 1st FL not.
3. CVT having too much of a problem - even airplane sound for me is a problem; And I don't believe using a metal-reinforced rubber for power transfer is invincible and need no replacement - even timing belt or timing chain need to replace;
4. Our family have been using Toyota since KE3x, and I'm confident on its reliability.

I almost chooses Honda City before this as it almost has everything better than the old Vios...

Well, the front look of the new Vios is kinda weird. Even I look at my own one, sometimes it looks cute, sometimes it looks bengkak.

The rubber boot tray has grip... far far better than MyVi plastic tray.

One thing, the front pillar together with the tweeter turns out to be quite thick, might block the view of certain angle. But I'm not aware of City front pillar as I only test drove it for a short round.

I'm used to MyVi thick front pillar so small problem here. tongue.gif

But the more you look, the more unique/cool it become. Situation is similar to Savvy - it's now blend in already.

Don't worry. That's only for JDM, unless UMW have Toyota Crown or Vitz.

Not surprised to hear that. But the improved legroom will contribute a lil bit to reduce leg fatigue during a long journey.

A 2 hours ride at the rear cabin in my bro's old Vios makes both my back and my legs tired  rclxub.gif
*
There are also complain on Benz, BMW, Camry, Accord both back and leg tired in a 2 hours ride. tongue.gif

QUOTE
might be family man might wan CIty...
while young generation might wan Vios

Sure or not?
City owner end up complain aeroplane sound and fear of going to face CVT problem sooner or later.
Vios owner end up satisfied but complain by other people being uninteresting and let his/her passengers complain about its legroom.
Which owner you want to be? whistling.gif

QUOTE
i dunno how good is the new vios in term of NVH but not the old vios... cramp, noisy and there is vibration like proton... like rattling sound or what so ever.... dun think becoz of brand den u say its good

Definitely far far better than Proton. It is so obvious when going pass humps.

Added on October 30, 2007, 10:29 amBtw, talking about hi tech, the new Vios has auto sound leveling. The volume will adjusted accordingly to your speed, based on your adjusted volume reference of that time.

That's bullshit...A 3 year old Gen2 with failing engine mountings and my savvy rides better than any Vios even with lower profile tyres..Vios just crappy nippon junks.
*
You can't ride to anywhere with failing engine anyway. You are right with your Savvy rides better only after all the DIY.

But my 23yr old stolen Corolla GL rides better and tougher than your Gen2 and Savvy, I miss my Corolla. cry.gif

Anyway my Vios,

Wow...new car!!! Wash your car? is a nice car but your car body colour is not my taste...
wish you enjoy your new car...
Only four colour to choose, and I don't want black (hard to maintain), silver (too common), gold (so uncle). I so hope they have the Dark Silver like in the Camry or the Phantom Gray in Vios06 but don't have.

Anyway this color looks good when real and under bright day light. tongue.gif

This is my 2nd refill - so my 1st FC calculation is around 11km/L. But the car performance is really getting better and I'm expecting 12km/L~13km/L on my 2nd FC calc under same 100% city condition (Melawati-KLCC super long jam back and forth) everyday.

I pay a bit more for a car that serve me well..  and I think.. the Vios serve me well enough...
From KE35 (sold), KE70 (stolen), RJ77, and now NCP93, they never fail working.

QUOTE
FC is quite high. anyway will give you accurate after your 1st service.
if 13~14km/l, should be a reasonable drive. Anyway, since is a new design, everything still unknown yet. Hope you can update to us your FC!!! Thanks.

When on the road always crawling jam wor? Still high FC kah?
