hi guys I found this video. I am 32 this year where I have started working out since 2 years ago but instead of increasing my weightplates, I gotto reduce weight plates on my weight lifting because I feel that I am getting weaker every week and more injuries .

But here there is a 70 years old that can still lift weights. Is it possible? I mean wont he get weaker and lesser energy to work out every week?

You really need to take a critical look at what you’re doing if you’ve been weightlifting for 2 yrs and getting weaker.

Nutrition? Rest? Intensity of set? Seriously what are you doing? RPE 10 every time you exercise?

Don’t listen to the no pain no gain bullshit, those can only be said from seasoned weightlifters 5-7years++, where their body is already so well adapted to weightlifting, hence their workout routing is just not practical for beginners. (1-2 yrs of at least 4-5 training days per week NO miss on any days, for compound lifts)

And no, that 70y/o in the video is a publicity stunt, or an extremely rare genetically gifted person, and is definitely not your “average” human

Major red flags that something is seriously wrong with your training program. And most likely your lifting form.
Get someone who knows their stuff to take a look at what you are doing.

Well you can see in the video he's doing it right. Good ROM slow and steady pace with not so heavy weight while keeping tension.

if you control the weights then you can lift till very old age. many ppl let weights control them.

I've seen a 60y/o male at the gym still fit, although not as strong and bulky as the guy in the video. Besides doing weights he still do other functional exercises.

At old age it's more important to keep in check what is the maximum weight your body can handle. Most importantly, stay injury-free with proper form and understand your limit. It's no longer about going heavier like what we can do at younger age but more like maintaining your fitness.
