The difference is that the separate 5G pass can be used with any mobile internet, including Hotlinkmu.

Anyway, you can still switch plans to Pantas/Fast at the moment and switching plans is a good deal in itself (costs RM2, resets validity to 30 days and apparently there's a free 1GB pass for the first day).

the ironic thing is inside Pantas there's no 5g passes right now.

once the free 5g add-on pass ends middle of this month, it looks like we need to pay that extra RM5/month for 5G access.

I suspect Hotlink now using Pantas to describe hi-speed 5G passes rather than the old Pantas plan which it seems is no longer mentioned on their website.

The page of your link there is certainly about the "new" prepaid plan.

I'm on Pantas and in the Hotlink Red app Passes tab, there's no 5G passes and the costliest one is RM45/40GB roaming one.

I recently ported to Hotlink prepaid. I didn't ask for any specific plan and they give me the latest "new" prepaid, then I quickly top up RM5 and switch to Pantas.

Choose Pantas for long validity and lower data usage.

Choose the new plan for more data options and higher usage.

There is also Streaming and Work from Home plans.

if prepaid users suddenly deducted RM5 credit overnight, there would be chaos and mass complaint.. add RM10 to postpaid bill, only a few users may notice and complain..

My 30 days free 5G pass expired this morning, and now phone status bar shows 4G+.

mine doesn't fall back to 4G+ but I need to force 4G sometimes for usable service
