Telcos is using the "speed" as bait... if test, never get that speed all the time... off peak yes, on peak hours may be not.

Doesn’t matter much to me. 10-20mbps enough for my use case. I usually only look at FUP. Tunetalk 150 vs Hotlink 200. That’s all. Plus my 3CA modem can pull in quite strongly from multiple bands and I’m already using Hotlink for my phone so I kinda know their network performance IN my area.

Onexox rm35 offer fup 250gb.
Whats this 3CA modem model and brand? Tq

Have link for that xox pakej? Their website so confusing.

My modem is from NEC Japan. Bought used on Aliexpress around 200+. It pulls around 100mbps on LTE with Tunetalk (Celcom). Should have no problem pulling close to 48mbps from Hotlink.

If you can survive with 3Mbps, RM30 30GB pakej Siswa for 180 days
If you need more speed, RM10 for every 5GB (so RM10-20 monthly)
*
Yeah I’m surviving on this for my phone when I’m out in the LRT or car. It’s not super fast but it gets the job done for simple² stuff. I just make sure I have fast wifi at home, that’s it. I like it because of the 180-day validity.

I just got this plan too for a newly registered sim (for modem). Maybe 2nd month can start getting some discounts when trying to renew.

As for the speed, no problem reaching 48mpbs on my 4G+ home modem. Because their actual 4G+ speed is 100+ mbps actually. So it’s easier for them to ā€˜under deliver’ to more manageable 48mbps. Will continue testing.

My pantas prepaid dont have such option to purchase, only could find this in hotlink normal prepaid plan ( not pantas)
*
Yes only hotlink prepaid.

I have 2 sims now. 1 sim in phone under pantas, so can use a lot of their options for long validity. Another 1 sim just bought, it’s hotlink prepaid 1.0 plan, to put in mifi modem, in the app got RM40, 48mbps, 200GB FUP.

Looks like can meet the advertised 4G speed of 48mbps. Ok lah there’s pros and cons with everything in life. As long as can save some money

I believe this plan is merdeka special which will be revert back to 12mbps after the promo period.
*
Owh really? If truly the case, my TuneTalk sim will be back in use. 12mbps is just so …. limiting.

How to get this plan? I don't hv it
*
I think it’s only offered under Hotlink Prepaid Plan, not Hotlink Pantas Plan.

I know the name is confusing because the telco is already Hotlink, so why is there something called Hotlink Prepaid Plan and then another called Hotlink Pantas Plan?

Also this thread (see title) is Hotlink Pantas Plan , hence the confusion. Maybe should resurrect any Hotlink Prepaid Plan thread from years ago and discussions can be had there in more specific manner?

Maybe headline thread should be titled ā€œHotlink Prepaid Plan & Hotlink Pantas Planā€.

Even on Shopee, Hotlink sim cards are either sold as Hotlink Pantas or Hotlink Prepaid. So yeah, not helping for people who are thinking about getting a new sim or wanting to port in.

There’s also Maxis Hotlink sub-forum here but discussions are dead in there.

Why Hotlink so generous ?

Digi under digicelcom no more these goodies

I remember last time Digi had gsc voucher , Starbuck discount , Petronas vouchers.
*
Even without this spin&win campaign, their reload bonus can be generous too. Often there’s RM4 bonus for RM30 topup. Around last year got RM10 bonus if use GX Bank card when that bank was newly launched. I reloaded many times.

It's not really 'generous' so much as a discount for their service (comparable to the current RM3 voucher for monthly plan).

Whereas something like the Baskin-Robbin voucher is RM9.50 'worth' of item, outside of Hotlink's own goods and service. Different kind of generosity.
*
You get RM40 credit for giving them RM30. I’d say that’s also a RM10 gift which you can use the extra RM10 for Baskin Robbin’s if that suits your fancy. I actually got 1 B&R voucher from spin&win but I gave it away because I don’t consume such product. Whereas RM10 extra can be used for Petronas voucher, etc, which are more useful.

Because of my no sugary stuff policy, I’m giving away 1x Baskin Kid’s Scoop 2.5 oz. First inbox gets it (based on LYN’s official time). Thanks and enjoy.

EDIT: Oredi given to 1st PM that I received.

I only have 4G+ router with Hotlink’s 200GB plan. Speed is fine. 40mbps to 80mbps usually. Enough for my own personal use.

My payment didn’t fail (I used Visa card) but I agree the app is so slow and sluggish. Every button press require some seconds of waiting time.
