Hi, sifus. I'm eyeing a Legion 5 Pro (5800H / 3070 / 32GB / 1TB). Lenovo is selling it around RM7.5k after applying a coupon (NOVGAMER). I wonder if it's the best deal? Or I can get it cheaper? The price has hiked so much since early this year, have no idea if I shall wait for a better price (or promo). Any sifu can advise on this?

note that L series even though it's business grade, doesn't offer excellent specs (average sized battery, not much higher end screen options etc)

E series while being consumer grade, offers better specs

3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : 1. Reliability(Can use for around 5 years) 2. Aftersales and Warranty support. 3. Not too heavy, so I guess 14" max. 4. Ideally can get it within a month. Her college has just started and she's using old faulty netbook for now.

if that's the case you need to increase budget for business laptops, otherwise forget about it

Looking for laptop for office use
1) Budget below RM4K
2) need big screen min 15"
3) Reliable can use at least 5 years and good after sales support
4) normal MS Office usage, Zoom, youtube
5) Not too heavy

Hi Master Sifus. I've been following the thread and thank you for your selfless work Sifu ZM Fong. I'm pretty set on the Lenovo series.

Budget RM 6000-7000 (can hike to 8000 see how)

Looking for : Future proof laptop, prolly fit to run AAA games for 3 - 5 yrs from now ( no need ultra ). Don't care about weight or battery life at all. Also watch movies so a good sound / screen is a must. RTX 3060 and higher only.

Waiting time : Can wait.

Questions

1) In terms of Value, is there a reason to go for the Legion Series over the IdeaPad Series? Or are they equivalent?

2) In terms of performance, would there be a difference between a pure AMD build Vs a Hybrid Ryzen chipset with NVIDIA GPU

3) In terms of Value is there a reason to consider the 5i series as opposed to the 5 Pro? 5i seems to be out of stock. Worth waiting for it?

4) Apparently there's some 11/11 deal on the Lenovo website? Any idea how good the savings might be?
