May I ask what is the price to get a decent one nowadays? RM3k?

Build quality probably since I mostly use it at home, specs worry might affect its performance. Do I have to know does the bad build quality would cause? Sorry not expert in this field.

rm3k is ok

poor build quality might affect durability (if u bring it out often in bag) and longevity

Hmm... mainly use it at home so I guess I could "sacrifice" that...

Is there any recommendation for if I'm willing to let you the build quality?

1. Budget : RM2k-RM2.5k (preferably below RM3k)

2. Usage : Normal browsing, youtube, facebook, instragram

3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) :
- min 14"
- light-weight
- battery life the longer the better, if possible like 5 hours with normal browsing

If I wait till next year, it doesn't guarantee the price will be back to normal right? Just curious only.

For those who looking for budget laptops (especially around 2k-3k range) Please note of possible build quality/qc issues, some budget models has sacrificed build quality to lower down the price point

This is why sifu ZM Fong take build quality as one of most important considerations when recommending laptops

This is how QC/quality issues shows especially on the hinge part. The hinge is broken despite that it is newly bought laptop. Model is Dell Inspiron 3000 series (2021 model)

Can you also recommend a decent model that doesn't cost a bomb - and if RM3k+ is the okay price? Don't mind paying lil more for a better and last longer laptop, just used for normal browsing, youtube, facebook, instagram etc and 99.99% use at home only.

if reliability is your main concern, you need to fork out more than 3k for business laptops

even so they are not bullet proof, there are lemons

How is the Magicbook Pro built quality? 2 years on-site warranty? I'm still looking at 5500U vs 4600H.

if u mean exterior build it's decent (metal)

not sure how good is their aftersales, i think no onsite

5500u can be faster than 4600h if given enough power, so cannot just compare cpu directly

I checked out some previous posts, noticed you do recommend this Honor Magicbook Pro quite often. Since it's around RM3k+ (official website is sold for RM3399), may consider to get this unit. It has 16GM RAM, does it mean it won't last for too many hours? Read it somewhere that may consume more battery if the RAM is more, not sure how accurate the info is.

Have never used Honor products before, I hope it's good.

Btw, I do come across some Lenovo models that you recommended but mostly sold out or unlisted when I clicked the link (Shopee). Would you recommend any other models (any brands) that is at the same range with this Honor Magicbook Pro?

Thanks in advance smile.gif

Ooooh... it was an article that I read online, not in the forum itself.

Hmmm... Besides this Honor Magicbook Pro, do you have any other recommendations that I can compare? Prob around the same price. Thanks!

EDIT:

I just found this in another thread recommended by you... Hmm... Let's say I can afford this price range, which one would you think is the best one to get? I hope this question doesn't sound dumb because I am seriously no good in this... sweat.gif
