QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Oct 23 2021, 11:25 PM) Hmm... mainly use it at home so I guess I could "sacrifice" that...Is there any recommendation for if I'm willing to let you the build quality? 1. Budget : RM2k-RM2.5k (preferably below RM3k) 2. Usage : Normal browsing, youtube, facebook, instragram 3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : - min 14" - light-weight - battery life the longer the better, if possible like 5 hours with normal browsing If I wait till next year, it doesn't guarantee the price will be back to normal right? Just curious only. |

For those who looking for budget laptops (especially around 2k-3k range) Please note of possible build quality/qc issues, some budget models has sacrificed build quality to lower down the price point
This is why sifu ZM Fong take build quality as one of most important considerations when recommending laptops This is how QC/quality issues shows especially on the hinge part. The hinge is broken despite that it is newly bought laptop. Model is Dell Inspiron 3000 series (2021 model) ![]() ![]() Be careful when you buy the budget model Image source: Facebook group ![]() This post has been edited by MyProLife: Oct 24 2021, 10:16 AM |

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Oct 26 2021, 02:43 PM) if u mean exterior build it's decent (metal) I checked out some previous posts, noticed you do recommend this Honor Magicbook Pro quite often. Since it's around RM3k+ (official website is sold for RM3399), may consider to get this unit. It has 16GM RAM, does it mean it won't last for too many hours? Read it somewhere that may consume more battery if the RAM is more, not sure how accurate the info is.not sure how good is their aftersales, i think no onsite 5500u can be faster than 4600h if given enough power, so cannot just compare cpu directly Have never used Honor products before, I hope it's good. Btw, I do come across some Lenovo models that you recommended but mostly sold out or unlisted when I clicked the link (Shopee). Would you recommend any other models (any brands) that is at the same range with this Honor Magicbook Pro? Thanks in advance This post has been edited by starry-starry: Oct 26 2021, 03:41 PM |
