8GB DDR4 3200 ram
512GB Nvme ssd
RM 3859

Is it good budget gaming laptop?

Can get same specs for cheaper. Acer Nitro 5 but swaps i5 for AMD RYZEN 5-5600H. RM3419

Looking to get a laptop below 3000, wait time before oct.
The main tasks would be gaming, some photo/video editing, and browsing the web. Hoping for the laptop to last at least 4-5 years.

While looking around, I found this laptop for 3.3k, but the 8.8 sale brings it down to 2.9k below 3k. What do you guys think?

Would definitely wait if you can for sales period. This model is fine. Most people now looking for budget gaming laptop also have this in mind. Can also consider Acer Nitro 5. Priced similar for same specs.

1. Budget : 2k+
2. Usage  : web surfing, MS office, streaming
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : light weight would be good.

Also, just wanted to ask, if it would be better to walk in to a physical store or buy online? A few years ago, went to Digital Mall, Sek 14, the prices did not differ much with online despite some hagling. Is it the same now? If yes, might save a trip and just get it online.

Thanks in advance.

Likewise with person above, go for Acer Swift 3. Prices won't change much for physical store unfortunately. Leeway for getting a bargain not as good as compared to building a PC. What you can do is look at online store promotions. Easier to hunt a bargain when you can browse a lot of stores at once online.

Try Acer Aspire 5. Surprisingly decent for low budget gaming for a non gaming laptop. https://www.acer.com/ac/en/MY/content/series/aspire5

Hi sifus, any recommended monitor budget under rm500
was looking at Asus, Acer, Lenovo, not sure about other brands

mainly use for watching movies and work
*
Am using a Samsung IPS 24" atm. Acer LED 24" is usually a little pricier but you can get for cheap atm on Pikom. Go for whichever you can find at a cheaper price.

Acer Nitro 5 is good value for those specs. Concern will be for watching 4K Bluray if you want to output to an external monitor. Check to see if the model supports hdcp 2.2 output.

Give the Acer Swift 3 a try. 1.5kg build that's suited for work but can also do light gaming.

Hi, need suggestion for new laptop
1. Budget :3-4K
2. Usage : general web surfing, youtube, Autocad work 2D only
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : -

Whats the minimum spec required to run autocad in 2D only?
*
If confirm only 2D, a basic GPU is sufficient. 8GB RAM, single threaded CPU is okay.

At your budget, you can go for Acer Aspire 5. Slightly higher spec but with more flexibility on your processing. https://shopee.com.my/Acer-Aspire-5-Intel-1...870.16000154600

1. Budget : 1.5k-2.2k
2. Usage  : light photo editing, browsing 10+ tabs, trading forex.
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : backlit keyboard, long battery life 5+ hours, good keyboard.

Currently looking at Honor Magicbook 14 Ryzen 5 and MSI Modern 14 i5 12th gen.

Seems Modern 14 got more storage 512gb and better ports but small trackpad. Magicbook seem more sleek and sturdy.
*
Leaning towards Modern, but mostly because I don't have any track record for the Magicbook. You can also consider Acer Aspire 3.

Same as my recommendation above, you can consider Acer Swift 3. Otherwise the Vivobook S14 OLED is a decent competitor.

Hi everyone, is there still a need to get a laptop with graphic like Nvidia MX series to get reasonable boost for normal gaming or just settle with Integrated graphic Iris Xe Graphics would do for a RM3000 below laptop with 15.6"? Say for occasionally low requirements gaming. Because back then it is always to have Nvida Graphic card if some light gaming is involved.
*
Honestly if you're just going light gaming, you don't have to worry too much about graphics card. If you have some more budget, spring for something cheaper like AMD.

If onboard works for you, something like the Acer Aspire Vero should be what you're looking for in terms of budget.

Usage: Browsing, youtube, watching movies, using microsoft office, occasionally use adobe photoshop & ilustrator
Requirement: Prefer 14" or 15" screen, good sound quality and keyboard.

There's a good deal on the Acer Swift 3 right now.

Can also try ASUS VivoBook 14 A1400.
