Mind if I ask what's your recommendation for the cheapest good gaming laptop? 😅
*
'Cheap' and 'good' is subjective bro. Different user different balance.

Can try Lenovo Ideapad 3 if you're aiming for something lower budget.

If you're an Apple user, wait a bit and they might roll out a 15" Apple Macbook Air. https://www.theverge.com/2022/3/25/22995892...ir-rumor-report

Otherwise can consider Acer Concept D.

Hello all,

I'm looking for a replacement laptop.
Bugdet: 6k (can be stretched if necessary)
Usage: mainly gaming (football manager, total war, civ. Maybe AAA games if not available on PS4), browsing, streaming, torrent
Display : at least 15 inch
weight : less than 2.5kg
Urgency: can wait until july

My main criteria is this laptop can last long (+/- 10 years usage)

thanks
*
Acer Nitro 5. 15.6in, 2.3kg. Powerhouse if you take good care of it. 10 years is pushing upper limit and will depend on your own ability to care for your machine as well.

Hi sifu,

I'm a digital nomad looking for a thin and lightweight laptop. Easy to carry in my backpack.

Budget: 3K - 5K

Usage: Mainly for work purposes (writing articles, blogging and some simple design using Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop). Also, for streaming movies (e.g. Netflix, etc.). Multitasking (e.g. can handle multiple Google Chrome/Firefox tabs). I don't use the laptop for gaming.

Display: 13"-14"

Weight: Less than 1.5 kg

Specs: At least 512GB SSD, 8-16GB RAM. I'm fine with integrated graphics.

Battery Life: Preferably can last 6-8 hours+ per charge

Wait time: 1-2 months

Can you recommend a few different brands and models? No Acer since I had a bad experience using it in the past.

On a side note, is Lenovo Yoga Slim 7/7i Carbon or Pro version worth buying?

Thanks!  notworthy.gif

Lenovo Yoga or Thinkpad X1 are acceptable options.

Thanks sifu!!

one more question

I notice Nitro 5 2022 version is released but not sure if available in MY now, do you think I should wait for it?
*
Acer Nitro 2022 only just started shipping in US in Apr. If you aren't in a rush to replace your current model can give it a few months to see if it comes in.

Hi! Looking to buy a decent laptop. My requirements below

Budget: 3.8k to 4.2k (can stretch a little more... just a little)
Use: Multi instance emulator gaming, multi instance PC games and the usual jazz surfing etc
Processor: AMD preferable
GPU: RTX 3050 or RTX 3050 Ti

Looking to use it for long term. I actually thought of Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3, HP Victus and Acer Nitro 5 but I'm worried about HP and Acer having awful after-sales surpport.
Please recommend between the 3 or if there are any other good choices.
*
Would recommend Lenovo and Acer between the 3. Have heard mixed feedback from Lenovo users here, with hinge problems. This mostly depends on your luck though.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Lenovo/comments/pg...gaming_3_hinge/

Haven't had issues with Acer units so far.

If you take out touchscreen, try Acer Swift 3. Can likewise have 512GB and upgrade to Ryzen 7 on your budget. https://www.acer.com/ac/en/MY/content/model...ptops/swift3amd

Hi sifus,
I hope anyone could give some recommendation for a new laptop,
1. Budget: Around 4k-5k
2. Usage: Mainly for video editing (davinci resolve), AI, Photoshop
3. Requirements: Does not have any specific preferences, just want the best performing laptop for the above usages.
*
If you aren't fussy with designer branding, get a gaming laptop. Predator Triton 300 SE is easily one of the best video editing laptops that you can buy within your price range.

Hi, I plan to buy a laptop to be used with an external monitor. As for the usage, mostly on using Autocad (heavily) and SketchUp. Next to them mostly on Spotify and internet browsing.

As for the price, if lowest than 4k wil be better (if 3k, even better), since I'm not into gaming.

Could give me some opinion? thanks.
*
For a budget AutoCAD laptop, can try Acer Aspire 5 or Lenovo IdeaPad L340. Acer prices go lower than Lenovo, so depends on your spec requirements.

Hi all, looking for a laptop with rtx3060 for some gaming but maybe mostly just torrenting. Is older laptop with rtx2070 also ok?

Budget 5-6k. In perfect world i hope for ssd + 1tb sata drive combination.

Any recommendations? Had been checking out Legion 5/5Pro and Asus TUF. Looking for full keyboard where possible.
*
Honestly depends on your gaming requirements. ssd + 1 tb sata bit tough haha. But try Acer Nitro 5. https://shopee.com.my/Acer-Nitro-5-AN515-57...429.11072719757

Oohhh, thanks!

Btw, actually what's the difference between spin 3 (I'm looking at i5) and the new swift 5?
*
Major difference is the Acer Spin models are convertible, so you can turn them into a tablet. Acer Swift 5 is your standard slim model that's easy to carry around, but doesn't give you that same flexibility.
