Quite cheap, but will have limited performance for higher end titles. Ok if you just want to play retro / indie stuff. Otherwise spring for Acer Nitro 5. https://shopee.com.my/Acer-Nitro-5-AN515-45...70-8c3b2c0b8f27

Hi sifus, looking for laptop recommendation.

Budget: Around 3k
Usage: Reading, Watching videos, and very light single player games (no need fancy specs, can run the game game dy), Work.
Screen size: 14 - 15 inch.
Requirements:
- IPS and sturdy build, don't want models with tons of well-known problems that will need to keep repairing. Appearance is not an issue.
- Don't want Lenovo or any laptop with shrill pitch fan sounds.
- Can run external 4k monitor
- 8GB ram minimum. Can add-on storage later.
- Heavy or light laptop also can. No spin, no swivel, no touch screen, no pwm flickering.
Wait time: Up to 1 month or so?
Is it better to build a PC or are laptop prices these days more reasonable?

Also, how much was Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45-R7ND during Lazada promo? I think Lazada had a RM10 off every RM100 promo past few days? Should I wait till next sitewide promo or do shops actually give better discount?

Thanks.
*
Your best laptop price generally goes like this: Employee discount > Online promo > Physical store sales tongue.gif Make friends with a store clerk, and you might get best price.

Laptop prices getting better. Would recommend, especially if you want it for work. Acer Aspire 5 should suit your needs https://www.lazada.com.my/tag/laptop-acer-aspire-5/

Hi Sifu's, just a average salaried gamer here looking to snag an upgrade.

1. Budget: <RM5000
2. Usage: Gaming
3. Requirements: RTX3060

Is this even possible? RAM and SSD can be basic, will upgrade myself. I browse the web see 3060 going for less than 5k a year or two ago, now all 5k+++ 😓, regret not buy. And how big is practical use difference for games between 3050TI and 3060? The price range gap is so huge. Thanks sifu sifu sekalian.

Acer Nitro 5 top up RM38 can get 3060 liao. No need to headache about it. That's just 4 meals economy rice these days tongue.gif

1) Budget: 6k-7k
2) Usage: Gaming, programming, photoshop
3) Requirement: Intel Gen 12 or AMD Ryzen, Nvidia 3060 above, 16GB RAM, 15" screen, solid build quality

I bought Asus OLED Vivobook pro 16X which pretty much match my requirements, but that laptop had serious OLED ink mark issue and i had to claim warranty for it. Also i find that it build quality not so good (feels like plastic), so decided to give it to my wife, and I buy another one. Pls recommend  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

Personal choice in this. I lean towards Intel, but AMD will get the job done.

HP ZBook Studio G8. May need to add on HDD. Can also consider Acer Predator Triton 300. Not exactly a business laptop but you want to do video editing, it gets the job done.

Hi all, can i ask whether there any laptop with 6000 series amd that is under rm3k?

Budget :3k below
Usage: documents like excel or word and browsing. Occasionally gaming a little.
Preference: Reliability. Hoping it can last more than 10 years
*
6000 series under 3k quite tough haha. If you are just a casual gamer, consider going for something lower end. Try Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-45-R7ND). 5600H at 3.4k brand new. Refurbished goes for lower.

hi, i'm a teacher and looking for a laptop for daily use. i had a HP Pavillion and i banged it a few times and its breaking apart now.

budget: 2-4k
usage: powerpoint, word, Youtube, educational website with animation/games. lots of plugging in projector as well.
preference: fast response, battery life, i bring it around different classrooms all the time so lots of opening and closing, need to be durable.  would be nice to have 2-in-1 but not sure does it sacrifice the durability.
wait time: within 3 weeks

i heard Lenovo is good and reliable? i have no idea about specs and all so i will take your word for it biggrin.gif
*
Lenovo is not bad. You can get a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon for 1.7k these days https://shopee.com.my/-R-Lenovo-X1-Carbon-2...28-aac4d0c50776

If you like 2-in-1s, try Acer Spin 3. Perfect for on-the-go, and is pretty durable. Falls just within your budget at 4k https://www.acer.com/ac/en/MY/content/model/NX.A9VSM.003

In the end value depends on what you want to run also ma. Budget conscious? Wait for 8.8 sales?

Otherwise I'd go with Acer Predator Helios 300 (PH315-55-72EA) biggrin.gif
