Had a friend whose uncle consulted for one of the big developers. They didn't want to pay him. Finally, engaged in court case and spent tonnes of money. Fortunately for him, he had deep pockets as well. Managed to win the case with cost. Imagine someone who doesn't have maybe millions to spend on good lawyers. Have to accept whatever settlement they are offering.

There's much much more to the story than meets the eye am afraid.

Rain getting into the elevators? Not really anything new and is more of a teething issue that can be fixed. Even expensive KLCC area condos have such issues.

Sewage issues? Let's put it this way, you think the developer would risk tarnishing its name when it has plenty of ongoing projects with unsold lots? Nothing tarnishes the name of a developer more than a court case for shoddy build quality of its products that causes major defects.

I tried to sue the management for my Icon City PJ unit which has constant toilet water leaking from the unit above, and failed water trap in guest bathroom causing toilet to smell

In addition to that, when buying the property they did mention that many of the shoplots outside would be full of designer brands and shops, can compete with MidValley they said . Total lies because there is only like one 7-11 there now ahhaha. But that’s okay la, what’s not okay is deeming the whole building as commercial, even the residential apartments, so they charge us commercial maintenance fees and all our electricity is charged at commercial rates using their own infra and company, not even TNB.

Got I hate Mahsing more than anything in this world, rental not even enough to cover monthly costs thanks to maintenance fees, and now don’t even have tenant because of the leaks and smell which they refuse to take responsibility for. And I can’t even call my own guys to fix because of Covid restrictions

You are underestimating the stupidity and greediness of Malaysian. Remember this is the land of songlap, so don't be surprise to see developers doing this sort of thing. I have a similar case happened to me years back. Glad I sold my unit

Sewage issues…well what can I say…I seen enough if these issues from Mah Sing and yes it does seem like developers in this country would rather sue you as opposed to fixing defects.
