MARKETING understands that DigitalWorks Advertising Founder and CEO Tanya Hyacinth Fernandez has been released from Kajang Prison after serving a 7-day sentence for her failure to pay a fine for contempt of injunction order on a defamation lawsuit filed against her by MKH Berhad.
Confirming her release was lawyer to Tanya, Choo Dee Wei.
In a phone conversation with MARKETING Tanya shared that due to the recent developments DigitalWorks Advertising which specialises in Pay Per Click Facebook, Google, YouTube & LinkedIn advertising will be closing off new business and for the time being will be limiting its services for existing clients.
Tanya added that the decision to scale down operations of the 3-year-old Online Advertising Agency had to be made due to the current case and so that the Agency’s clients will not be negatively affected.
She added that she would soon be releasing an official statement on the case via her lawyer.
The charge follows a court injunction after proceedings for defamation commenced against Tanya by local property developers MKH Berhad, formerly known as Metro Kajang Holdings
Meanwhile, MKH Berhad denied Tanya’s allegations and published an official statement on their Facebook page clarifying Tanya’s allegations were defamatory and untrue. In the statement, the developer said they ‘were deeply concerned over the allegations posted on Facebook page’ Are Malaysian Consumers Stupid? by one of the purchasers of Saville@The Park, Bangsar which were falsely manipulated with intention to disparage our company from what started as a simple purchaser’s complaint.
