ipodtouchmaster (iptm) is part of the ipod elite team, together with Chris Shroud and ipodtouchhacker. i always used their jailbreak method and their 1.1.3 one works...but installer crashed after the recent installer version upgrade. hence i got scared.

there were a few other bugs in their jailbreak (maybe they fixed it now i don't know) which i had experienced:
1) after listening to my downloaded podcasts in the ipod and connecting the ipod back to iTunes, it indicates that my podcasts are New (which is wrong). there is no such issue with my 1.1.2 firmware.
2) the time and date will change to another time zone by itself and has to be manually reset. (happened to me once and happened to others if you check the ipodtouchfans forum)
3) cannot use Summerboard in 1.1.3 (seems like only the Dev Team's jailbreak works with Summerboard).

having said all this, iptm's jailbreak for 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 work flawlessly.

yes, you can get your lyrics from various sources and paste it in. it will appear if you have 1.1.3 (i don't think you need the app pack installed for this but i can't be sure).

as to whether your media files remain, there's been conflicting reports. i jailbroke with the Elite Team's method and everything remained. even purchased music and videos can be played. but others users have reported that they could not play purchased files or they also lost their files.

i personally would recommend staying away from jailbreakin 1.1.3 for the moment.

no, you can't insert the time frame as the lyrics won't scroll automatically. you need to manually scroll the lyrics yourself.

to view the lyrics of your song, just keep ipod Touch upright (vertical position) while playing your song and touch the album art twice i think (can't test it now since i downgraded back to 1.1.2)

i assume you have a 1.1.3 ipod Touch right? the lyrics function require the installation of the US$20 app pack, so if you updated the firmware, you need to buy the app pack too (of if you jailbroke, then you need to install the app pack as well). OR, did your Touch come with the app pack installed already out of the box?

i did the Elite Team's JB and while it worked, i did an Installer update and basically crashed my Installer app. so i restored back to 1.1.1 and jailbroke to 1.1.2 and have remained there every since.

i honestly don't recommend jailbreaking 1.1.3 at this point in time until the SDK is released. there's just too many bugs. customize and summerboard may or may not work for some, while others have to use Boss tool to move apps and fonts to make space for more than 3 apps to be installed after jailbreaking etc etc etc and the list goes on.

i'm not missing the wiggling icons or the lyrics function. the 5 apps can be had on 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 already (excepts hybrid mode in Maps).

before you jailbreak, does your 1.1.3 have the 5 apps installed (mail, weather, stocks, maps, notes)?

yup...it is the USD20 or £12.99 January software update which add 5 apps to your iPod touch. Firmware updates are free via iTunes.

well, i tried and now my touch is in BSD error loop and i can't get it to recover. sigh....know any way to get it into recovery mode now?

works fine now after that brief scare. basically getting the ipod into recovery mode is the challenge if you get a BSD root error.

oh to friends, just to let you know the jb works with purchased music and vids from iTunes store.

ebook reader, tap tap revolution & iphysics are on my fav app list besides summerboard.

keep calm, try to get it to restore mode. it happened to me too the first time i tried to jailbreak 1.1.4. after restoring back to 1.1.4 (clean install), i ran the jailbreak again and it worked.

i had the same reaction too!

the IPTM's technique works. i tried it two times and it worked on the 2nd try.

it should work. did you start with a clean install? prior to running the jailbreak, i restored my jailbroken 1.1.2 to a clean 1.1.4 version and then ran the jailbreak.
