[TS's Guide]
Hi all, let me show you the quick and easy guide on the Steps you should need to do, so you don't get screwed over by yourself doing redundant things.

1. Upon Completing your University Course,
go to https://www.ptptn.gov.my/kelaspertamaonline/Utama and login with your NRIC as your ID and password.

CODE
https://www.ptptn.gov.my/kelaspertamaonline/Utama

(Optional) Also apply for a LDHN and KWSP account for yourself, as this might be updated into PTPTN Exemption system and also easier for your future company, if they hire you.

2. Fill in accurately your current personal details, and your parents / spouse's salary and other details the system needs to know about you.
(BUT TO AVOID REJECTION PLEASE, PANDAI PANDAI COUNT YOUR SALARY + PARENTS (MOM+DAD) SALARY < RM11K (B40/M40) Category )
(IF YOU'RE MARRIED, PANDAI PANDAI COUNT YOUR SALARY + SPOUSE SALARY < RM11K (B40/M40) Category )

3. PTPTN will generate a lists of documents for you to prepare onwards AFTER YOUR CONVOCATION.
Everyone is different depending how much info you and your parents have provided to the Government. Those Akuan Sumpah sample letters you can refer in the section below.

Your case might be uploading tons of documents :
My case, my dad retired - not working, my mom working, based in KL, my salary RM 3.5k, my mom's RM 3.3k.
By right, I should have upload an Akuan Sumpah as my dad wasn't working + my payslip. But since PTPTN system didn't request, so I didn't provide.

Classmate A, his father work privately at his own, mother doesn't work, his salary slip also was requested by PTPTN.

4. Wait for your University Convocation is held, and received all the documents.
5. Upload all the documents under 500 kilobytes then should be good to go.
For File Compression : https://www.ilovepdf.com/compress_pdf
You be surprised PTPTN actually accepts unreadable compressed documents laugh.gif

6. Wait within 60 days to get a reply. I gotten my reply within 14 days. (13/Jan/2022 to 27/Jan/2022)

PTPTN videos on some student guide

Thread Guide : 2020 onwards
https://leannetan97.medium.com/ptptn-first-...de-dec0396c744b

Due to Covid-19, it changes our normal norm. I have completed my Bachelor’s Degree in January 2020 and my Graduation ceremony was postponed to May of 2021. However, my university, the Univerisity of Malaya (UM) still officially declared our graduation date as 🎓17 October 2020. The first thing I thought of after knowing the graduation date was paying back my debt to PTPTN. Since I know that First Class Students are still able to apply for PTPTN waive through the online system. Therefore, I made some research about that and compiled a list of steps for my junior & friends for future references.
For your information, I prepared this guideline at end of the year 2020 and now I finally found a more suitable platform to share it with you. The sharing includes:
Detailed step by step guide to apply for PTPTN first-class loan waiver.
➡️ How to get the list of documents needed?
➡️ How to prepare the list of documents needed?
➡️ How to check your application status?
➡️ How to pay back your remaining debt?
➡️ How to calculate the Takaful (insurance) that we need to pay back?
➡️ How to request a refund for the extra payback?
Sharing from me and my friends regarding the documents verification.
Sharing from my friends regarding how to you waive the cancelled PTPTN loan after receiving another scholarship.
The steps are as follows (Remember to read through all the parts before you start preparing your documents).
PART I: GET THE LIST OF DOCUMENTS NEEDED
Get ready your No. Pinjaman
➡️ You may refer back to your PTPTN loan contract
➡️ You may refer back by login to your Online account
➡️ You may call PTPTN direct phone line (Phone number is available at the website at Part I Step 2)
Login to Pemohonan Pengecualian Bayaran Balik Pinjaman Ijazah Sarjana Muda Kelas Pertama / Setaraf website using your NRIC number and No. Pinjaman
Fill up your and your parents’ details carefully.
📎 NOTE: Especially the total salary amount of your family including yourself. If you accidentally filled the amount that exceeds the M40 range (Refer to the second link at Reference part). They might straight away block you from the next step but I believe you may still call the service line to clarify your mistake when filling the salary if you unintentionally did that.
After filling in the details, you will see a list of documents they need you to upload.
📎 NOTE: This list of items may be different from others as they will refer back to your university type (Public / Private University), your parents working status, your family background etc.
I will suggest you all screenshot on the list of documents needed and download all the sample document provided (at ℹ️ info icon).
❔ Reasons: You will need to repeat PART I Step 3 & 4 again to look at these documents needed once you close the application website.
📌Extra Information For PART I:
For UM Student, I believe there isn’t have “First Class” written on your scroll. If you can’t find the “First Class” word you will need to request First Class Letter from UM Exam Section. (I will explain this in the PART II sections, just bear with me).
I will share the list of documents needed for my case to give you some reference (Again this list may be different from yours):
1. Scroll
2. Academic Transcript
3. First Class Letter
4. Completion Letter
5. Pay Slip
6. Father’s Self Employed Surat Akuan
7. Father’s 2019 LHDN statement
8. Father’s KWSP Details Statement
9. Mother’s not working Surat Akuan
10. Mother’s KWSP Details Statement
📎 NOTE:
➡️ Documents No 1 & 2 can only be verified by Exam Section.
➡️ Others Documents (excluding Document 6 & 9), you may ask favour from EXCO, Government Servant (DG41 and above / Kumpulan A), Government School’s Principal etc. (You may refer to the instruction given by PTPTN)
👬 👭Sharing from my friends:
➡️ I have a friend that brave enough to request verification for Document(No. 3-10 except No 6 & 9) from the head of police.
➡️ I have a friend from UPM (University Putra Malaysia) who only verified Document 5 and just scanned the other original documents with colour.
➡️ I have a friend from UM who scanned the original Academic Transcript with colour got rejected and need to submit the verified copy of the Academic Transcript.
➡️ I have a friend that request verification from Advocate & Solicitors and got rejected because PTPTN only accepted verification from a government servant.
➡️ Yup. Depends on LUCK 🍀 . You may try your luck 😂.
PART II: PREPARE THE LIST OF DOCUMENTS NEEDED
Basically, this part might be more relevant for UM students but if you from another university, you may read through to have some brief idea.
First, request a “First Class Confirmation Letter” from UM Exam Section.
➡️ You may request from Academic Administration and Service Centre(AASC) via email which is written on this website.
Request a Completion Letter from AASC / Your Faculty’s Assistant Registrar
📎 NOTE: You may not find any “Completion Date” written in the letter but only Senate Date. From my experience, UM might not have the terms of “completion date” but I believe the completion date is somehow the same as the Senate date.
Request verification of your copy of scroll and academic transcript from AASC.
Prepare Surat Akuan for your parents. If any.
➡️ You may download and type your Surat Akuan (Borang Am 80) on your own so that they will charge less than the usual price. In my case, they charged RM4 for verified a pre-fill document.
➡️ Bring your Borang Am 80 and get verification from Pesuruhjaya Sumpah (Commissioner For Oaths) nearby your house.
Request verification for your remaining documents (Documents No 3-10 except Documents No 6 & 9 in PART I). In my case, I asked favour from EXCO.
After preparing these documents, you can now upload these documents to the website stated in PART I Step 1 and submit your application. The process of your application might just take a few days (3 working days during my time). I also have some friends that take a few months to get response and feedback from them. Again, need to depend on your luck.
PART III: CHECK YOUR APPLICATION STATUS
What I heard from my friends if any documents are missing or not complete. You will receive the email from PTPTN within a few working days/weeks that note down what you have to take note of and reapply the application. If you didn’t receive an email from them in a few working days/weeks you may go to your application website PART I Step 2 to view your application status.
If successful, Congratulation! 🎉🥳 However, there are several steps you need to complete before you celebrate.
📎 NOTE: The letter issued will be posted to your registered address later on. To save the PDF version of the letter, you need to use the Mozilla Firefox browser. They did not support this feature in others browser. 😂
👬 👭Sharing from my friends:
For those who received other scholarship or loan from different organisations during the first semester of the second year, you should have cancelled your PTPTN loan on that semester after receiving the offer letter. However, if PTPTN had already released the loan of that semester to you, only the loans for the first year are applicable to waive.
The example scenario is as below
First-year (first semester) = PTPTN [APPLICABLE]
First-year (second semester) = PTPTN [APPLICABLE]
Second-year (first semester) = PTPTN & JPA [NON - APPLICABLE]
The rest of the year = JPA
PART IV: PAYBACK YOUR REMAINING DEBT
Login to PTPTN i-online account.
Click “PENYATA BAKI TERPERINCI”.
Select the year drop-down list to the current year.
Look for the final debt you need to pay back. (To understand the calculation, please refer to EXTRA INFO I)
Question 1: Why I still need to pay back my debt after I got waive for First Class?
❔ Reasons: The debts are actually the TAKAFUL (insurance) that payout from your account monthly since day one your loan has been approved while only the loans will be waived excluding takaful.
Question 2: Why the insurance amount payout in the first year of your loan is different from the latest insurance amount?
❔ Reasons: It is because at first, the loan release to your bank account is lesser. Over time, the accumulation amount that PTPTN release to you increase, the insurance fees to assurance definitely will increase as well.
Payback your remaining debt.
📎 NOTE: The default payback amount is the original amount they borrowed for your TAKAFUL. You should change the default amount to the TAKAFUL amount that you has been used.
After paying the debt. Check the statement and make sure the “BAKI KESERULURHAN PINJAMAN” is RM0. Then you are done. Hooray!
However, if you see bracketed amount under “BAKI KESERULURHAN PINJAMAN” row, that means you have paid excessively to PTPTN. (To request a refund, please refer to EXTRA INFO II)
The image below is the screenshot of the statement after I paid my remaining debts. There are some written explanations regarding the statement based on my knowledge and understanding. If you find anything wrong, please feel free to correct me in the comment section. Thanks. 😄
A screenshot of the PTPTN statement after I paid my remaining debts
Screenshot of my PTPTN statement
📌 EXTRA INFO I: CALCULATE THE TAKAFUL AMOUNT THAT YOU NEED TO PAYBACK
Login to PTPTN i-online account.
Click “PENYATA BAKI TERPERINCI”.
Select the year to the first year when this loan is approved. (eg. 2016)
Example: Refer to 2016 PTPTN Account Statement Snapshot at below.
The allocation for the Takaful insurance will be the amount in “BAKI (RM)” column. In my case, it was 243.26. (Let us give it a nickname as “Amount 1”)
Select the year to the current year when this waiving is approved. (eg.2020)
Example: Refer to 2020 PTPTN Account Statement Snapshot at below.
The remaining allocation for the Takaful insurance will be the amount in “BAKI (RM)” column. In my case, it was 204.25. (Let us give it a nickname as “Amount 2”)
Therefore, the total used takaful amount will be:
Amount 1 - Amount 2 = 243.26 - 204.25 = 39.01

2016 PTPTN Account Statement Snapshot

2020 PTPTN Account Statement Snapshot
📌 EXTRA INFO II: REQUEST REFUND (IF YOU PAID EXCESSIVELY)
How do you know you have paid excessively to PTPTN? You may look into your account statement. If you realize you have a bracketed amount under “Baki Keseluruhan Pinjaman” (eg. “(10.21)”), that means you have paid excessively to PTPTN.
Go to PTPTN Semakan Lebihan Bayaran Balik Pinjaman website.
Key in your NRIC No.
The system will automatically check for any excessive payment from your account. If you are able to see the excessive payment from PTPTN i-online account but the website in (EXTRA INFO II Step 1) display that you do not have any excessive payment, you might need to wait for a few days and recheck again.
If the system verifies that you have paid an excessive amount, you will see a “MOHON” button.
Click on the “MOHON” button and fill in your personal details such as email, mobile phone number, refund method, account details and submit your application form.
👬 👭Sharing from my friends:
➡️ One of my friends said, PTPTN refunded him within 3 working days.

I got 3.68.

Need 0.2 more to get first class. Sadly I can't get it since I already take all the subject offered.

Anything can be done?

You can resit the course that you feel that you can score?

Hi there! May i know if you face any intake issue that cause the PTPTN Loan Waiver to be disqualified ?
*
- MQA being revoked could be a reason on uni side?
- Maybe resiting an entire subject/paper that you failed previously to wipe off bad grade to achieve first class?
- Parents + your salary jadi T20 {Recommend not to work until you settled your PTPTN if you M40-T20 boundary lah}

Oh, what I meant was some private universities have three intakes per year. Those who started their first year first sem in short sem might face issue when applying to the PTPTN Loan Repayment Exemption since there are 3 internships to be completed for the whole course. Have to check if you have finished your studies within the stipulated time set by PTPTN.
*
eheh. most university should count your study status until end of internship, if your final 3 semester is combined internship.
Need to ask your HOD/HOP for that.

But normally the dates given by PTPTN are accurate lah. Unless you planning like extend another semester due to subject not being offered by uni.
PTPTN will allow flexibility for 1-2 extra semesters.

Normally short semester will be counted as a normal semester, they will still pay you guys. Even you apply PTPTN at Year 2-3, they will evaluate your background and grant you the whole duration of stay of money for your few years in uni.

i see. my last exam on jun20, then on nov20, register for the convo (but no ceremony lah), that means, end of this year, i shall be start paying..
but how much i need to pay? i saw my contract stated like this [attachmentid=10969359], however it said that 10 semester, but i had completed within 6 semester, which means that i only received 6 times instead of 10 times.

not sure should i reduce the repayment or how... or best advice is to enquire ptptn staff. right ? any idea?

thanks

eh. your degree is part time [Separuh Masa], not eligible for PTPTN exemption blink.gif

June 2020 - Final Paper
November 2020 - Online Convo get scroll edi.

Means November 2021 - start paying.

Best advice enquire PTPTN staff since you magically finished Degree 4 month quicker, also check how much you need to pay, since PTPTN Stopped your loan early by 4 months. rclxub.gif

Loan Repayment
The borrower is responsible to repay the amount of PTPTN loan issued to him including other costs such as wage costs, takaful coverage, Revenue Stamp tax and other payments as stated in the Loan Offer Document.

Loan Repayment Commencement Period:

Borrowers must repay the loan after 12 months of graduation WITHOUT having to wait for the Repayment Notice from PTPTN.

Wage cost (Ujrah) on a monthly basis will be charged starting on the 13th month.

Borrowers who make early repayments will not be charged wage costs during the 12 -month period.

The repayment period for borrowers who make Ujrah exchange is based on the loan balance.

Bayaran Balik Pinjaman

Tempoh Mula Bayaran Balik Pinjaman:

Hi Bro, I just got my PTPTN Loan Repayment Exemption approved. They informed me through my email. Since it is approved, do I need to get an official letter from PTPTN stating that I'm cleared of PTPTN Loan Debt? Or is the email itself is sufficient enough? (email stating that my ptptn loan repayment exemption has been approved)

Besides, in the email, they only reveal 3 digits "no. pinjaman" which are not even my no. pinjaman. Should I be concern about this? (though they do have my address stated correctly)
*
Should be printable on PTPTN website for successful exemption? From what I observed from my friend's account:

Btw Off-topic

I still have no idea how to apply PTPTN properly. My SSPN Plus account keeps getting stuck. I cannot find the code. Also, do I really have to contribute RM200 to the account? What if I don't want to contribute.

thanks. currently already in second year and I didn't apply because I am super frustrated at this.
*
SSPN-i account ah? I last time go to Maybank pay RM 20 just to open the account, until now into the account.
I believe it is those additional insurance schemes or something for tax relieve for your parents.

I didn't too, contribute anything besides opening the SSPN-i account for RM 20.

Got any specific suggestions on where/who to go to certify documents? I need to certify EPF statement and according to PTPTN officer they don't allow suppporting docs (other than affidavit) to be certified by comissioner of oath so other docs must be certified by government officials. I'm not familiar with these kinds of things so I'm not sure.. confused.gif
*
EPF/KWSP just walk in to EPF office ask them to print for you.
Else find Gov. Clinic Kesihatan help you certified by True Copy.

I think you can go to any primary school or secondary school find the Pengetua to stamp and sign.
Else you might need to find someone working as UG41 ranked Gov. staff.

Hi, how come household income also included the borrower's income? I have slightly exceeded the T20 threshold, do you think I should give it a try applying? Or can I just put myself as not working since my income is like peanuts. Will the PTPTN authorities be very strict in the checking process?
*
well I can say is,you can apply through the portal, fill in all the details accurately, prepare what documents needed and if they one eye buka one eye tutup, they passed your application should be ok. Because the document and background check is 60 days long.

else if they reject they will show you what reason and contact you by email where you can followup with them.

if your you and your parents have KWSP account they will also look at your family background. the process is like 60 days.

unless you already have a spouse. then no need fill in your parents details. or your parents is retiring soon?

The B40 M40 T20 background check definition will change yearly i believe.
