So I'm changing my job. Unlike strawberries and yolo people, i find a job first before resign.
Lai help me choose.
Sr enginner in mnc to another sr engineer position in another mnc.
Company A, salary increases 28%. Different engineering job scope. OT culture is very apparent here. Big local company.
Company B, salary increases 28%. Same engineering job scope as my current job. Apparently everyone here is quite active and jobs are challenging since company is looking at performance instead of seniority. However no OT. Taiwanese company..so maybe its like chinaman company?
Company C, salary increases 33%. Same engineering job scope as my current job. Performance based increment and worklife more balanced. Doesn't encourage OT that much unless really urgent. Got OT. Ang moh company.
If i go all out, i think company B is better. Also this company only 8km away..
Company C higher salary and life more balanced but it is 35km away.
Which should I choose?
Is just salary and OT your main considerations? How about career advancement and upskilling yourself? I would advise to consider other points with a longer term view - if your situation and ambitions permit. Things to also compare:Lai help me choose.

The industry - is the company in a sunset industry?
Opportunities to manage and develop others - sole contributor? team size?
Attitude of superior(s) towards teaching
Opportunity to become a manager (assuming manager is the next level)
My own experience when I was younger is that I usually took the road less travelled, and generally that has paid off for me.
