Only way i can think of to make it "somewhat" legal to a "certain degree" is that in malaysia u legally own a certain make and model which is bought it in a non road worthy condition (crash, totaled, flood damaged). Then u get a SG scrap car transfer all the details such as chassis and engine number from the MY car to the SG car.

Some people do that. Cloning for personal used not illegally used other people roadtax etc.

Some of the cars are worth more in parts alone
Makes a good proposition to buy
Then sell chassis as besi buruk lol

if the prices is half the market prices, then It is ILLEGAL!.
LEGAL one u need to pay tax, tax is according to market prices.

if u want a peace of mind, then DONT.
even if u have student AP, u still need to pay tax.

I know someone close who bought many sg scrap car

He bought it and take original engine to malaysian registered chasis

Much cheaper than buying brand new sports car

The real challenge is finding good condition chasis......

Why not just do what bangsa J did

Don't renew it. Just use it to Jalan jalan in kampung, use Vellfire to ambik sawit, ambik pisang etc etc.

my father-in-law jenis no nonsense comply with all laws punya. but he is a bit naive. when salesman kata everything legit, he easily believe that everything is legit. but when find out its illegal, he straight report polis and arrange to scrap the cars at his own cost. in the end, he lost about rm100k++ on those worthless scrap cars.

Are u guys for real? Cars that sg rejects u dare to use? I rather trust their inspection standards than to risk my life.

These cars tend to be only 10 years old and in almost perfect condition. There's no issues with the car, just that the COE has expired. It's why SG scrap cars are highly sought for here even though its illegal.

Since when has it been legal, you can buy it but not use it on public roads. If I'm not mistaken it's only legal in india as that's where they sell some of their scrapped cars
