It's called scrap car because they sell it to SG junkyard. Other country can import scrape car legally but not Malaysia.
So all scrape car from SG is illegal in malaysia

If it is done through legal channel, then it is legal.

We took scrap cars from Japan & UK legally, not sure about Singapore.

actually there's a law preventing the registration of any SG vehicles here... even if you do it the clean way like Japan and UK recon

not sure why. You can bring in cars from other RHD countries even Aus and HK but just not SG

Yes, they can help you kawtim.

Works the best if both of the car model is the same, use your own number plate and road tax on 2 of the same car.

This is not a rekomended way of owning a car unless you dont mind certain, inconvenience.

So all scrape car from SG is illegal in malaysia

To make it clearer a scrap car does not mean it’s not road worthy. In Singapore it implies owners don’t want to pay for COE after 10 years. So it’s declared as scrap.

It’s illegal in Malaysia because there are laws in place preventing us from importing and registering cars from SG.

with full confidence they say can settle roadtax, puspakom n jpj.

isnt it illegal? how do they do it? steal other ppl plate + roadtax?

my father-in-law kena tipu with these SG scrap cars. he bought 3 cars. all he scrap when he found out they are actually illegal.
the modus operandi is sell the cars cheap but then charge you 15k-30k per year for the road tax renewal. notice they dont mention insurance. its because these cars are illegal so there is no way to get insurance coverage. even if they give you a cover note, the moment the car accident and the assessor checks the chassis and engine numbers, confirm gg.

they can give you the road tax and geran because they copy paste existing geran and road tax from a different car with the same description. same car model, same colour. they will issue you the number plate that matches the legit car's number plate. but the chassis and engine numbers will of course be different.

Singapore cars could never be made ROAD LEGAL.

To import cars into Malaysia, you need specific AP (Import permits) which states the type of vehicle, brand of vehicles, age of vehicles from specific countries. These permits are only issued to the limited and privilege group of Bumiputera AP holders in Malaysia. To import the cars, you need to pay a certain amount of Sales Tax and Excise duties to be determined by the Malaysia Royal Customs.

To cut it short, Singapore is not a country where used vehicles are allowed to be imported from.
