If it is an Indian content, it should have a Sports channel entry from the side menu list. As terryfu have said, he is able to see a live sports streaming

When using home wifi, its India content. I'm still wondering why coz when I check my IP on this, it points to Klang Valley. So am wondering what other location detection it uses.

The TV activation did not signed out. Even when I off and on it still points back to activated India content

Yes got sports entry and had french open live. Plenty of cricket channels though, and the EPL end of season shows are all commented by Indian nationals

I used Apple ID to subscribe. It was around 10:30PM on 31st May when I opened the iOS app (which I had downloaded days prior) and saw the option to subscribe.

Was using WiFi (Maxis Fiber) at the time. I did not get any of the Indian content.

Now I just AirPlay from phone. You can get dolby vision/hdr but sound quality is shit. Still worth the compromise for those with LG tvs

Now, that is so unlucky! See we are stumped as to why terryfu is able to access the Indian content without using any VPN on his Android TV...

Anyway, if you access through Android mobile, IPad or IPhone device only, then you will only see the Malaysian content.

I can guess buggy programming in the Android TV app version which allows access to the Indian content for those who link the Android TV device to the Disney+Hotstar subscription that is tied to an Apple ID account when there is no location info to check upon.

Since there is no Google account used in the Disney+Hotstar subscription in the app, there is no way to crosscheck the location info besides the location access in the Android TV. The app can use the DateTime locale setup but it seems like it is not used to know the region. It also ignores any check upon the Google account's region setting used for the Android TV setup.

Maybe terryfu needs to confirm whether he has enabled the location access setup in the Android TV setting or not (since there is no region setup in Android TV version 9 and above). Better for him not to enable the location access if he wants to enjoy this loophole!

He also needs to confirm which Package ID shown for the Disney+Hotstar app on his Android TV.

On phone? Some apps will give this error, Stitcher app for example. Nothing we can do except to setup VPN on the router level. But if it on PC or TV, try a different provider.

Just now successfully access and stream India contents (before this can only browse their catalog, try to stream will get a proxy error).

Make sure already log in to a browser (no need for VPN). Connect VPN on TV, open the Hotstar app and click login and follow the instructions. Done.

In my testing, we can't never able to login directly to India app as it will ask for Indian phone numbers.
