QUOTE(statikinetic @ Jun 8 2021, 11:10 PM) Well well, potentially there goes the CDM signing that we were discussing the past few months. 1st transfer window for John Murtough as DOFThose folks who thought Neves would fit into our CDM position....prepare for disappointment. Not just on the pitch we concede first, even in transfers we seem to be missing out the early transfers. "Arsenal close in on Neves Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves, according to Todofichajes. The Portugal international is believed to have agreed a four-year contract with the Gunners. A fee has yet to be agreed between the two clubs however, with Neves valued in the region of €40 million (£34m/$49m)." hope he can do better than woodward era signings too much wasted |

Romero was always leaving, he should have been allowed to 2 seasons ago. Back then, he played the Cup games. But once we reached the semis, Ole replaced him with De Gea instead.
He wanted to leave. With Henderson returning from loan there would be no place for him and his wages was pushing 100k as an international. Aston Villa I believe were interested in a transfer worth 8M. United blocked it. Whether it was because United thought they could end up squeezing Villa for more money we will never know, Romero was forced to stay. Hence we ended up with a 100k per week international goalkeeper who was third choice and didn't even make the bench last season. Football mismanagement case study. |
